Scala Osteria offers traditional Southern Italian, seafood-centered recipes meant to be shared with family and friends in our warm and vibrant dining room. Our menu is influenced by the traditional Italian osteria where creating simple yet delicious food is paramount, and our atmosphere is always inviting and full of life. From our beautiful oyster bar to our house-made pastas and Neapolitan style pizzas, we have something for everyone. We offer varying experiences, from folks grabbing a quick bite on their lunch hour, to couples stopping in to delight in our Oyster Bar, to parties spending hours enjoying delicious Southern Italian fare with perfectly paired wines. Sister restaurant to valley favorite, Bistro Don Giovanni, Scala Osteria is located on vibrant First Street in the heart of Downtown Napa. We are open daily for lunch, dinner from 11:30am to 10pm and late night service from 10-11pm.

Thank you for accommodating my special request for seating and providing a thoughtful card and dessert with candle for my friend’s birthday. It was her fist time at the restaurant and we both enjoyed the entire lunch very much.

Terrific spot for delightful Italian food. Creative menu with numerous choices. Staff was knowledgable and friendly without being overly attentive. It was our anniversary and they presented us with a handwritten card - who does that! Manager came over to greet us and congratulate us too. Triple shout out for "Zee" - she was awesome!

Excellent Petrale sole and branzino. Very good cannoli for desert. The service was quick and efficient. Highly recommendable.

The menu is fun Italian and the dishes are clean and flavorful. We ordered a pasta, then Chicken Diavolo and the Sole. So so good. Staff is friendly and super attentive. Atmosphere is sophisticated but not stuffy, and lively. My favorite place in downtown town Napa 🥰

Food was great, Staff is SUPER RUSHY, seating is not so great, AMBIANCE IS LOUD. The ceilings are high, so the noise level is VERY loud. To compound it, the restaurant has some kind of music playing but all you hear is a thumping of the low end bass which is completely annoying. My suggestion is have NO music because you can not even hear it, the place is SO LOUD already it became a a swirling tunnel of sound. Just the noise factor alone made us eat our food fast just so we could LEAVE. One note about servers: I am European: The waiters and bus staff have a BAD HABIT of sticking their arm in front of you and just grabbing plates away. THEY NEED TO ASK IF YOU ARE FINISHED, whether you are obviously done or not DO NOT PUT YOUR ARM ON FRONT OF MY FACE!!

We celebrated a friend’s birthday and took our Italian roommate and took our Italian roommate with us . The food was incredible, every dish. Definitely recommend.

This has become our new favorite Italian restaurant in Napa. The food is outstanding and the service is gracious, attentive and friendly. We sat upstairs for the first time, and found it was more intimate and substantially quieter, though we have sat downstairs before and found the experience delightful. Pastas are great, with a special non to the lemon ravioli, and the meat and fish dished are outstanding. The pork chop Milanese is light, tender and well flavored. All in all an excellent meal and a delightful dining experience.

I’m overjoyed that this gem is just a stone’s throw away from my home! The Scala Staff never fails to impress; thank you for another wonderful dinner and for making us feel truly special.

The service was very poor very disappointed we came for a birthday party all the way from San Diego they didn’t make it any special unfortunately. Our reservation was at 8 we didn’t get seated until 8:25 no apologies or anything not even place to set the bar was full we were on everyone’s way we ordered drinks from the bar we had to close the tap right way which is we understandable. Finally we get seated worst table right by the door on everyone’s way bumping into our chairs we asked to move which is they made us wait more. We order 3 enters we only got 2 we checked out the service didn’t even realize that we were missing a plate didn’t even offer dessert or birthday cake just closed us we check out still tipped we told him and he said oh im sorry. didn’t make up for nothing and we left. I will never come back to this place again.
