Le Thames Foyer est le cœur de l'hôtel Savoy et le lieu idéal pour un souper léger et informel.     Wanted to round off a day in London shopping. Food was amazing but service was so slow and our coffee arrived before our dessert!

    Everything about this experience was wonderful. The food, the staff, the tea, the beauty of the gallery and the hotel in general. 10/10 experience

    We previously went the gallery back in 2022 and had hoped that the refurb would change the view not the excellent service we had previously received. Sadly we we wrong. Whilst the venue has had a major overhaul and update, the service has deteriorated. When we were served our scones we did not receive any butter, cream or jam. We asked one server for it and after 15 minutes of waiting we asked another server. 5 minutes later we received our condiments and another 10 minutes later someone came over with a pot of cream. When we asked for water, one server took our order went to the side of the bar had a conversation with his other colleagues for 5 minutes then disappeared for the rest of the night not returning with any water. We asked another waiter for water and he returned in 2 minutes with water. When we asked for a refresh in Teas, 20 minutes later someone came around with teapot that we thought was for us but it was not. We asked a server for our teas and 10 minutes later our teas arrived. 10 minutes after that someone came back with another 2 pots of the same requested teas. Our main waitress would disappear for half and hour at a time and we would be left to fend for ourselves. She failed to explain what was on our dessert plates and failed to explain the kids desserts.

    Very very disappointing. We booked this for a special day out. We were seated and told we only had 1,5 hours at the table, - no welcome, no hello. Then they left us for 15 minutes before ordering and our first cup of tea and food arrived after we had been seated for 30 minutes without anything, even water. The waitress poured our tea and put the pots around the corner and dropped our food. We didn't see her again for a very long time despite our empty cups of tea and no way to pour it ourselves. When she finally poured tea it was cold and overly strong from sitting for ages. I asked if we could have some hot tea, and she responded with a very bad attitude. Eventually the manager came over on her own even though we didn't complain, realizing that we had been ignored. She apologized for the lack of service and took 50%off our bill. That was nice, and helped a bit, but we had a terrible day out, and it was meant to be a nice family day in London. By then the day was ruined. I will never go back again. I suggest others don't waste their special days out by going there

    Super disappointing This is our 4th time there- each time at Christmas and previously been excellent. Has been renovated which is nice however this time the service was absolutely terrible. Our children's food came out after we had finished all our sandwiches and cakes were arriving - as they had been waiting so long the children ate ours but wasted much of it as not to the same palate so we order some extra sandwiches to make up for the ones we'd missed however these took forever to come. No one topped up our drinks- my mother who is a very slow drinker even asked for more tea as no one bothered even after my husband and my teas had been empty for about 15 minutes. Even that took a while to arrive. They could easily have sold us all another glass of champagne is they had bothered to ask us. When we left my husband even had to go to the bar to ask for some more water as my daughter was so thirsty when we were leaving. Just basic!! The only saving grace for service was a delightful lady on reception who chatted to us whilst we got all of our coats from the cloak room. I genuinely left shocked had how poor the service was ... even at a basic restaurant I would have been disappointed. So sad as it had become quite a Christmas tradition. Previously when we went there was live Xmas music as well- this time just a piano which was fine but not the same atmosphere. Decorations still lovely.

    Our hostess Antonia was wonderful. Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The new decor is beautiful. Only slight complaint was paying £32.50 for a glass of fizz. We did have a lovely time though.

    I really hate to say this, and I generally don’t write reviews but felt the need to today, I honestly was disappointed. The ambiance and Christmas decoration was second to none, but for a coveted and pricey booking I expected exceptional food quality and more importantly service. The food was good though not exceptional, but the real disappointment was the service. Our waitress was excellent, run off her feet and very attentive she had any time, but the facts demonstrate that she was too stretched. Tea arrived late, and was often cold and empty/not refilled, condiments arrived late and were repeatedly asked for etc. I don’t treat myself (or my mother on this occasion) often, and having decided to splash out on a high tea at the savoy I expected a decent staff to guest ratio. Sadly this lets the experience down and as a result I feel like it wasn’t worth the money. Well done to our waitress who tried her best when understaffed for the level of service expected.

    All the staff were very welcoming and friendly, always smiling. Chloe was our waitress for the day, she was great and explained the menu brilliantly. Kept checking on us and interacting with us. It made my wives birthday celebration special, birthday cake and note from the staff wishing her a happy birthday were a nice extra touch. Thank you to all the staff at the Savoy.

    We had a lovely experience at The Afternoon Tea. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were delicious and we were served by Delightful Dylan who smiled throughout the service and was professional, polite and explained all of the different varieties of cakes and sandwiches with enthusiasm. Thank you Dylan for making our afternoon special and Happy Christmas!
