The name “Sassella” comes from a hamlet of 60 residents known for its vineyards near where Chef Cristian Pontiggia grew up.

In addition to working at two Michelin Star restaurants in Europe, Lombardy native Chef Cristian Pontiggia has received several awards from La Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, an international gastronomic society. The Italian government recognizes him as a Master Chef, and he holds a culinary degree that certifies him as a Doctor of Enogastronomy.

the patio is a magical wonderland of leafyness, and bistro lights, a totally unique Santa Fe experience not to be missed. And there are no words to adequately describe the perfectly grilled whole lobster tail served with the perfect risotto...

The mushroom soup is amazing. The eggplant appetizer is big. Very good italian wine list. Ceasar salad is both beautiful and delicious.

Sean was an excellent and well trained employee. He was informative on daily specials and was able to answer our questions. The wine recommendations were delightful. The food was absolutely delicious. This was the 2nd visit and we were equally delighted.

Attentive and professional waitstaff. Food was excellent, Caesar salad and tomato salad were delicious. The carbonara and the pasta with bolognese were excellent. Large and varied wine selection. Nice ambience inside and live music on the patio. Loved it!

Excellent dinner. Enjoyed sitting outside. Best dinner we have had in Santa Fe. Southwest cruise is great but sometimes you need to switch it up.

Everything we ordered was a feast for all the senses. Beautifully plated and served. We ordered the pear first course, lobster risotto, mushrooms and beef tagliatelle with pistachios, shaved Parmesan. Dessert was an amaretto flavored masterpiece! We enjoyed talking with Chef Cristian and learning about his experiences and how he came to Santa Fe. We have enjoyed Sassella several times. It is a favorite.

Sassella, as usual, was amazing! There is nothing I can complain about - from the minute we arrived until we left the staff was friendly and professional. We were running late, so I had to call and change my reservation time, and they were very accommodating. The drinks and appetizers were brought out quickly. The food was delicious - my daughter-in-law and I had the lobster risotto, my companion had the tortellini special, my son had sea bass. Since it was my daughter-in-law's birthday, she got a complementary dessert. Another memorable dinner at Sassella's!
