Originally built in 1887 as the third post office in Queensland, the iconic Sandgate Post Office has a new lease on life. Stylish and quintessentially Sandgate, it is a destination venue with an elegant gastro-pub restaurant, a vibrant main bar, a whiskey vault and sun-soaked alfresco dining.

Standing proud in Sandgate for 135 years, the heritage of the building has been embraced with a renovation that honours the role the Post Office has had in the community for over a century. Located on the corner of Bowser Parade and Rainbow Street across the road from the Sandgate rail station, it is once again set to be a landmark for the Sandgate community.

Very very disappointed. Entree was just horrible. I ordered lobster and avocado which was very expensive. I complained and they took $10 off the bill which did not make up for the complete lack of any culinary skill or flavour. Two other people order scallops which gave us a good laugh because they were the size of thumb nails. Serving of 4. Mains were OK. When we went to pay we nearly fell over because they charged around $50 surcharge as it was a public holiday. So expensive for what we received. We won’t be back and what made it worse is we invited our friends to join us there. We were highly embarrassed. We should have sent the entire meals back.

Everything about dining here was exceptional. We would definitely return and highly recommend this venue for all occasions.

Thank you so much for a lovely evening and meal. We requested a quiet spot because we had someone in our party who struggled to process sound in noisy environments, and had a beautiful table tucked away. Our birthday girl loved the happy birthday sign! The food was also amazing, very generous servings and the service was wonderful. Thank you so much :)

Ordered a $70 share meal which came out half cold after waiting an hour for it. Difficult to get staff to assist due to the business’. No reimbursement offered. Will not be going back.

Thank you for your feedback. We have checked kitchen times and there were no orders yesterday that were up to an hour in wait times. The average from our kitchen nightly report was 22 minutes so unsure what happened there. Looking into your food related issue. We understand you ate the entire meal before mentioning that it wasnt warm enough to your section waitress which didnt allow the kitchen to fix your issue. We have brought it up with the Head Chef to monitor. The Manager on Duty would have spoken to you at the register to discuss the issue further but you walked out of the restaurant not paying and the waitress had to chase you down.

First time for 4 of the 5 Diners and were mostly pleased. However, one Diner felt that the meals were a while in coming out.

Overall we had a lovely evening. Kids meals were huge, Roast for 2 could have been a bit bigger. Lovely decor and staff were very friendly, we had to wait nearly an hour for our food and they were not very busy.
