Overall San Matteo was on par for the course. Very nice bar area, but the noise level there ran into the dining room. This made it difficult to hear dining mates across the table. This didn’t bother our party so much as the rude server we had. She had an attitude that wasn’t warranted.

A real disappointment. I thought my cocktail was watered down -- probably warm spirits and lots of ice and that was the result. As for the food, everything went down hill after the salad (which was quite good). We both thought that our mains (veal marsala and veal parmigiana) were no better than the Stouffers entrees you can find in your supermarket's freezer section. The cutlet in the veal parmigiana looked and tasted to me like it came breaded and frozen directly from a Sysco delivery truck. The sauce in the veal marsala didn't appeal to us -- though that could just be our personal taste. The red sauce was bland. When we arrived, there were no more than a half dozen people in the restaurant, but, because of the hard surfaces everywhere and the background music, it was too noisy for us.

We had another delicious dinner at San Matteo. For the first time, we sat indoors in the lovely dining room. The high ceiling does increase noise, so at times conversation was difficult. Friendly service and a menu with something for everyone. I enjoyed a delicious pizza, right from the beautiful pizza oven. While there are 3 red and 3 white options of pizza, I wish that there would be a pizza special…..pizza del giorno. Just a thought! While this location may be out of the way for some, it’s a convenient meeting point midway between Bonita Springs and North Ft Myers. Looking forward to the return of Joey Fiato on Sundays. 🎶. Incredible wine slection!

We had a group of 12 for dinner at San Mateo and it was wonderful. The Owner Guissepe came out to say hello to our table and also was helping the servers bring food to their customers tables . Our server Isabella did a great job. I have been at the restaurant many times now when I am in the area there and have always had a great time . Would definitely recommend dining there .
