I'd avoid the French Onion Soup. It has cloves in it. I'd recommend/refer to Julia Child's recipe to make the soup. However, for my entree, I had the lemon risotto with Salmon on top and it was nicely seasoned and flavorful. Local live music on the Friday night and given the acoustics, it was a little louder than I had anticipated, which made it harder to talk/hear my dinner guest.

It's not bad, it's not great. Service started slow but then picked up. Food was pretty decent. I was concerned after some of the reviews but it wasnt bad. Portions are probably a little smaller than most italian places but they filled us up, just nothing extra. It would be more enjoyable if they set the ambiance for any evening date a little better and less like a sports bar.

Enjoyed a birthday dinner with my family. Food was very good. There was 5 in our party. Had a nice round table which makes it easy to talk. Service was good attentive but not overbearing. They don’t come ask you if you’re ok every two minutes like some places do. I live in the neighborhood and love having this beautiful restaurant in the area.

Found this little gem recently and so glad I did. The staff was so kind and quick, the food was phenomenal, and the drinks were delicious. They know how to make a real old fashioned. Overall, wonderful date night.

Excellent service from Antonio. He offered us different food options and handled all our questions. Food presentation was awesome! Will definitely come back with our friends!!

The staff fell all over themselves taken care of our party of four, from the time we walked in until we left. We had a variety of drinks, and the bartender certainly knew his or her business. I had a steak dish that was very good. Everyone liked their appetizers, entrees and desserts, the only exception being the semi-tasteless French Onion soup. Two of us had that and we were both disappointed. That was our group's only negative, and we will certainly go there again for the food, drink and ambiance.

The chef seemed to be having a rough night. The Alfredo was tasteless, the lasagna was cold, and the medium well steak came out rare. The Italian sodas were tasty, the mashed potatoes were delicious, and the panini was really good. The service was good but very, very slow. The live music was good but way too loud. Based on my experience, I can’t recommend the restaurant.

I was really disappointed with our experience at Salt and Sugar in Cypress, Texas. The service was extremely slow, and it took forever for the food to come out of the kitchen. We specifically ordered our daughter's pasta before the appetizers so it would arrive early, but instead, it came out after all the adult meals, which was very frustrating. On top of that, there was no floor hostess or manager checking on customers or the quality of the meals. The food itself was subpar. The sauce was orange and watery, and the mussels and scallops were rubbery with an unpleasant smell. It was clear there was no quality control in the kitchen if they were plating food that was far below standard. Overall, the experience was very disappointing, and I won't be returning. The establishment seems to rely heavily on its atmosphere and live music to distract from subpar service and poorly executed dishes. While the ambiance may be pleasant, it does little to compensate for the inefficiencies in service and the glaring deficiencies in the quality of the food.

We had a fantastic experience dining at Salt & Sugar; the restaurant is very well decorated, giving a fantastic ambiance that really sets it apart from the rest of the area. The food was great. The portions were perfect and the flavor was very nice. Everything is cheap too! But what really sets this place apart are the drinks. I bartend in the fine dining scene, and I have never seen such an interesting cocktail list. If you’re the type of person who likes to try new and different cocktails, you will love this place. My absolute favorite rum, Ron Zacapa, Don Julio, and an assortment of fresh and unique ingredients all made appearances on the Salt & Sugar cocktail list. Do yourself a favor and try something new; go to Salt & Sugar!
