Went here for date night - pretty underwhelming experience. Popovers were greasy, beet salad was salt forward to the point of being the only flavor we tasted. Seafood roll was the only thing we’d order again - if we ever go back. If you want seafood - better to go to fishing with dynamite or quality seafood.

There was a large selection of seafood--oysters from the West and East coasts, several kinds of fresh fish, and even a Connecticut lobster roll. Everything was prepared creatively and deliciously.

Starting with what was best, service from the hostess, waiter, and the rest of the crew was very attentive and helpful, so 5 stars there. As for food, we ordered several items to share for 3 people. The hamachi crudo was the best of all the dishes we selected which included the Maine Lobster roll with fries, the blackened mahi, Cesar salad and wasabi cole slaw. White wine list could include a little more variety, especially the Sauvignon Blancs, most of which were from New Zealand, which tend to be grassier than their Californian counter parts. They might consider switching out one of those for a more mineral-forward variety. We opted for the much smoother and pricier Sancerre, which didn't disappoint, even though two bottles accounted for half of our total bill. We shared a lemon preserve panna cotta that was delicious, not too sweet or lemony...just right for cleansing the palate. While everything was tasty, the hamachi was the only item that was amazing, followed by the panna cotta. While I understand why this policy has become common at popular venues, the two-hour dining limit is unfortunately still an off-putting necessity so businesses can survive. Lastly, the noise level was very high in this place and was about as loud as I could manage. I actually had to plug the ear pointed towards the center of the restaurant just so I could hear my friends talking across the table. Overall, S&P is still a nice way to spend a special 2-hour evening. Will I go back? Maybe for a quieter, more humble and relaxed lunch during the week instead of a busy Friday summer night dinner. As for value, well that's all relative, right? This was a special celebratory event for dear friends, who are always worth it to me, so long as the food, beverage and service are decent. But this isn't a place that my budget could absorb on a regular basis. But it's worth checking out for yourself.

We were fortunate to sit in the outdoor dining patio during our recent dinner with friends. Starting with drinks and the Edamame Hummus and Yorkshire Pudding Popovers (so good!), we were happy to relax and enjoy the great evening weather. The Fish and Ships was a popular entrée ( the restaurant accommodated one of our party by substituting a caesar for the chips), while the rest of us dined on a burger (with delicious fries), the Beet Salad, and the Hamachi. Our server was great and we left too full to even try any of the desserts on the menu.

Service good but not great. Food was delicious but ahi dinner did not come out it’s anything but the fish. Kinda off putting.

From the staff being so incredibly kind and lovable, to the exquisite food! I think this place has become my new favorite restaurant! They showed so much love to my daughter on her 11th birthday.
