Salt & Meadow is a dining experience that unites and balances the bounty of the Chesapeake Bay estuary with the farms of Virginia’s Northern Neck. The waterways here enjoy an abundance of seafood, and a vast array of herbs, vegetables and fruit thrive year-round in the region’s rich soil.
Leading the kitchen is Chef de Cuisine Kyle Perkins, who brings a wealth of experience to the shores of Irvington, has forged partnerships with local farms, purveyors to reduce the industry’s carbon footprint on a local level, demonstrating a commitment to environmental stewardship.

Loved the atmosphere and great service from CC the waiter. Oysters were very small but tasty. I had the catch of the Bay (Grouper) and it was delicious. My wife had the fillet and it was good but overcooked. If I had one suggestion it would be to offer more seafood options. I would have LOVED a seafood platter. Overall a nice experience.

Salt and Meadow is one of the most beautifully sited restaurants we've experienced. The view of Carter Creek and environs is simply gorgeous, especially as the sun sets. We enjoyed a delicious meal -- perfectly prepared halibut and a flavorful agnolotti. The rum cake dessert was underwhelming but the buttery rolls and lovely salads were very good. Wine list is extensive. Service was excellent. Ruth was a delight, personable and responsive. The Tides Inn is a pricey resort and their featured restaurant follows suit. For us it was a special treat and we loved every minute.

The food was fantastic, but the service was horrible. The waitress clearly did not want to be at work. We had to ask three people to send her over so we could order drinks on multiple occasions. We had to get up and get our own salt and pepper. We had to ask for streak knives. When it came time for dessert, we were told the kitchen was closed and we could not have dessert. After all that, the waitress had the nerve to bring the check with 20% gratuity automatically added. I adjusted it manually. I waited tables for many years. I hope I never made my patrons the way I felt today.

I made reservation for 2:15. As soon as i arrived they told me the kitchen is closing and I need to order in 2 min . The food wasn’t good and overpriced. The quality was low . I wouldn’t return .

We have only eaten here twice over the past couple of years. Menu is somewhat limited, but what they have is prepared with skill and artistry. All food has been delicious. Service is first-class and they certainly do not rush you. Only one IPA, one lager and one hard cider on tap - if you're into that. Wine list is extensive. Definitely the place to go in eastern Northern Neck for a special occasion. The water view from the Salt and Meadow is very enjoyable. After dinner, it's fun to roam the grounds/waterfront of the Tides Inn where you can find outdoor seating, blazing fire-pits and some BIG boats at their dock. We will definitely be going back.

Enjoyed a cocktail prior to dinner from the bar - which was great. Dinner and service were fantastic!!

We love the new decor, the vibe, and the view. The service and the meal do not elevate the experience.

Delicious food. We had the crab cakes. Hostess polite and cheerful server was knowledgeable, personable, and made our dining experience, very pleasurable. Ambience was terrific. We sat out on the back deck and enjoyed a beautiful cool evening with a made to order Sunset
