Salt & Meadow is a dining experience that unites and balances the bounty of the Chesapeake Bay estuary with the farms of Virginia’s Northern Neck. The waterways here enjoy an abundance of seafood, and a vast array of herbs, vegetables and fruit thrive year-round in the region’s rich soil.
Leading the kitchen is Chef de Cuisine Kyle Perkins, who brings a wealth of experience to the shores of Irvington, has forged partnerships with local farms, purveyors to reduce the industry’s carbon footprint on a local level, demonstrating a commitment to environmental stewardship.

Both of our dinners were wonderful. My husband had raw oysters and said they were very good. We shared a garden salad which was excellent. We were told the greens were from their farm. I had catch of the day, which was golden tile fish and my husband had Spanish octopus that had been grilled. For dessert we had lemon curd. The service was very well paced . Highly recommended.

Excellent food with great service. The redesigned Chesapeake room is beautiful with great views of the creek. Nice crowd for midweek. Want to see TI thrive so it will remain as is for years.

Delightful cocktails, delicious appetizers and entrees, and fantastic wine pairing. Attentive service, wonderful atmosphere, and gorgeous view. Not much could top this meal!

Location is wonderful for waterfront dining. Expensive for what we got. Halibut was a bit overcooked. The duck was excellent.

The smoke bluefish dip with cocktails was wonderful. The Blackberry salad was excellent. My husband loved the halibut and I loved the pork tenderloin. Our servicer (Julia) was very attentive and did a great job.

Salt and Meadow is our new favorite restaurant!! The service was excellent! We all had the tile fish, and it was the best I have ever eaten, and I have eaten a lot of tile fish! Drinks came out quickly and were wonderful! View from our window table was spectacular!! You MUST go to Salt and Meadow!!

From the start, this was not a positive experience. I walked into the restaurant and asked to add someone to our reservation. The two people at the podium seemed unable to communicate clearly. I had to ask twice to confirm that our reservation was changed. Once there for the dinner Manager appeared to not be trained on how to set a table. Was handling utensils and plates inappropriately. picking up utensils by the part that we would put in our mouse and palming bread plates. Our mail was OK, but certainly not worth the exorbitant prices. My family has been coming to the Tides Inn since it was opened. Was hoping that this new owner would make positive changes to restore the Tides to its former glory. very disappointed in the restaurant and other parts of the facility.
