Last night, my daughter and I visited Sake Japanese Steakhouse while exploring the area. Overall, the experience had its highs and lows. The customer service was excellent, and the cocktails were delicious—our server was very hospitable and made us feel welcome. However, there were a few issues that impacted our dining experience.
We arrived about 10 minutes early but were seated promptly and served drinks quickly. Unfortunately, it took nearly 50 minutes for the chef to bring out the prepped food to cook. During this wait, we noticed other hibachi tables being served ahead of us, and their chefs were putting on entertaining shows, which we enjoyed watching. When our chef finally arrived, the show was minimal—maybe two minutes at most—and lacked the same level of engagement we saw at other tables.
As for the food, I requested my steak to be cooked medium, but it came out overcooked and chewy. By that point, I was too tired to ask for it to be corrected, though I had clearly specified how I wanted it prepared when the chef asked at the beginning.
Despite these issues, I’d be willing to give Sake Japanese Steakhouse a second chance, as the hospitality and drinks were highlights. Hopefully, next time, the timing and food preparation will align better with the overall positive atmosphere.
