We ordered the bouillabaisse and the steak frites. The bouillabaisse was mostly very good but some of the crab was cold leading me to think it was very recently frozen and hadn’t defrosted enough. My wife had the steak frites which was served very rare while we asked for Medium rare. We had to send it back twice. They accommodated the requests but the service just wasnt there. I also had to ask for lemons for my water several times that never came. They have potential, but have a way to go.

The plates were dirty. The steak was not cooked to my requested temperature. They ran out of croque madame at 11AM and they tried to charge me for it! I would not go there again.

The price of the food is not the price of diner food, the quality is poor and certainly not french. Dry ratatouille, dry fish, etc...

I wish we had a better experience. It was not bad by any means. There’s so much potential. The decor and ambience is charming. Our food came out a bit cold. I don’t know if it was just sitting, but the serving staff seems like they’re doing multiple things at once, so maybe it was a timing issue? Idk. Either way, it was still delicious so we didn’t complain, and probably finished everything. The place is charming, staff was super nice, just a bit inattentive at times. Will be back for a second try.

This place was so good that we came back 3 times in a week of visiting San Diego from Miami. Cristina was the most amazing server and I have to say that the entire staff was great!! (Darrel,Michelle,Shey and Cassandra!!) Must visit and order anything… you can’t go wrong ❤️

My husband and I had a lovely Sunday dinner at the St. James. Their burgers are truly spectacular- the Parisian was absolutely perfect. Great service too- Crayton was attentive, fun, knowledgeable and passionate about the menu. The hotel is a historic San Diego landmark, adding an interesting element to the dining experience there. Recommended highly!

Fabulous little bistro! In the historic St James hotel. Such a surprise to find this place! Great service, sweet space and outstanding food. The burger was the best we’ve had in SD! Will definitely go back. Fantastic happy hour too!!!

Lovely brunch menu with interesting and tasty options! Service was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The Croque Madame is perfect and served with frisée. The Cauliflower hash had a fun, flavorful Harissa forward raste. Bloody Mary was great as well. We’ll be back!

The food was expertly prepared. The crème brûlée wasn’t the strong point of the meal but was very acceptable. We’ll try the chocolate soufflé next time. The steak frites was excellent. The ratatouille was excellent also. The oysters were professionally shucked.
