Way back in 1975, the Sail Loft lit the fire for Steve Silverstein, who went on to open nearly 40 restaurants. Located in the quintessential seaside village of Padanaram, it was the neighborhood place where you could get a good (strong) drink, chef prepared comfort food and relax in a convivial atmosphere with familiar faces. The Sail Loft was everyone’s favorite place; it was a hangout where some came for food and others for drink.

When the Sail Loft became available in 2021, Steve jumped on the opportunity to take the wheel. Steve and his wife Judy transformed the Sail Loft into an elevated neighborhood restaurant with a distinct updated boatyard feel. The spot is nautical with a chef-driven yet approachable menu, a deep selection of spirts and an intriguing wine list. As with all of Silverstein’s places, while the food, drink and design are always top-notch, it is the warm hospitality that keeps ‘em coming back.

This place was really lovely. Food was outstanding and we had a very knowledgeable and friendly server. Will definitely be going again.

The food was fresh, hot and prepared perfectly! I had the agave glazed salmon, which was outstanding, and my friend ordered the pan seared scallops which she said were absolutely delicious. Always a beautiful setting, lively & festive.

Our server was just so helpful and efficient! I really wanted beer battered fish and chips but didn’t want a huge portion for my lunch with a friend! Plus I’ didn’t want anything to take home so when I asked about the fish sandwich, she did say I could have the portion w/o the roll and it could be beer battered! Both of us opted for that idea and she did tell us only at lunch is that an option!

We had a delightful evening at the Sail Loft. Our server and the food were great. It was fun to sit outside and enjoy a nice night with friends on the harbor.

We had a wonderful night. Staff at the sail loft are so accommodating. Ended up in the bar area in a high top with family across at the bar! Always someone you know there. Our own “cheers”Bar and restaurant in Dartmouth! . Food was delish. Steak tips cooked to perfection Mashed potatoes, Caesar salad , mussels . So good!!

All four of us loved our entrees. Tried the Thai shrimp appetizer - excellent. As always the oysters were delicious and perfectly shucked (a consistent practice we appreciate)! Service was very good and we appreciated an adjustment to our seating arrangement.
