Way back in 1975, the Sail Loft lit the fire for Steve Silverstein, who went on to open nearly 40 restaurants. Located in the quintessential seaside village of Padanaram, it was the neighborhood place where you could get a good (strong) drink, chef prepared comfort food and relax in a convivial atmosphere with familiar faces. The Sail Loft was everyone’s favorite place; it was a hangout where some came for food and others for drink.

When the Sail Loft became available in 2021, Steve jumped on the opportunity to take the wheel. Steve and his wife Judy transformed the Sail Loft into an elevated neighborhood restaurant with a distinct updated boatyard feel. The spot is nautical with a chef-driven yet approachable menu, a deep selection of spirts and an intriguing wine list. As with all of Silverstein’s places, while the food, drink and design are always top-notch, it is the warm hospitality that keeps ‘em coming back.

We had wanted to try sitting on the patio, for a change, but the noise level was too extreme. We had trouble hearing each other talk, and we sat as close as possible in the restaurant. I think we’ll be returning to reserving inside seats.

Always a great experience and service. I had the grilled salmon, roasted carrots and fingerling potatoes.

The Sail Loft is a casual and festive spot to enjoy a drink and meal. The food, ambiance and service, are outstanding. The Baked Cod with fingerling potatoes and vegetables, is our favorite. Clam chowder is full of clams, savory and not too think. Portions are generous, well prepared and the presentation is appealing. The kitchen and wait staff receive a grade of A.

We sat on deck. Beautiful night. Service was excellent. We had drinks, appetizer, entrees and dessert. From beginning to end the food was melt in your mouth. We will definitely be back. Love everything. Service was top notch. We are both x waitresses. Very impressed.

View is incredible, right on the water. Bar area is very busy and thus loud somewhat due to acoustics. Food was just okay; rather bland but prepared well. small portions for the money. I would go bak for appitizers and drinks. Although, even though they were tasty, twelve dollars for 1/2 dozen clam cakes is a bit much. All in all I felt gouged.
