Way back in 1975, the Sail Loft lit the fire for Steve Silverstein, who went on to open nearly 40 restaurants. Located in the quintessential seaside village of Padanaram, it was the neighborhood place where you could get a good (strong) drink, chef prepared comfort food and relax in a convivial atmosphere with familiar faces. The Sail Loft was everyone’s favorite place; it was a hangout where some came for food and others for drink.

When the Sail Loft became available in 2021, Steve jumped on the opportunity to take the wheel. Steve and his wife Judy transformed the Sail Loft into an elevated neighborhood restaurant with a distinct updated boatyard feel. The spot is nautical with a chef-driven yet approachable menu, a deep selection of spirts and an intriguing wine list. As with all of Silverstein’s places, while the food, drink and design are always top-notch, it is the warm hospitality that keeps ‘em coming back.

Jill is the best manager! She really came through for me as my wife and I celebrated our 35th anniversary. Bailey was a great server.

A consistently terrific restaurant. Food was well prepared and the service excellent. We were there for a late lunch with out-of-town guests and enjoyed a great meal.

Everything was wonderful, food was delicious and the bread pudding was outstanding. Our waitress Rhonda was very nice:)

We sat out on the patio. It was warm. The idea of the blankets on the chairs was perfect. Our waitress was amazing, our busperson. Myra was very kind. Great experience .

Another great experience at Sail Loft for Valentine’s Day. Really nice, lovely atmosphere (not too stuffy and Valentine’s Day serious) and our meals were excellent. Started with drinks. The girlfriend had a spicy coconut margarita with a tajin rim, was delicious. For apps we had calamari and lobster rangoon, both were great. Main meal, we split a large piece of sautéed cod over asparagus and cauliflower mashed. So tender and well seasoned. Capped the night by splitting a slice of chocolate cookie crusted cheesecake served on top of a luxardo cherry puree. I can’t put into words how incredible it was. We love this place, it never disappoints. They put so much care and culinary talent into everything they serve. If you’re wondering whether to go to Sail Loft, stop wondering and just go. You won’t be disappointed.

For an unforgettable Valentine’s Day dinner, this restaurant hit all the right notes.
