Sahara Restaurant was founded in 1982, with the first location in Ferndale, Michigan. The establishment has been owned and operated by Saad Attisha and his family since it’s first day opened. In 1987, New Sahara Restaurant moved its location to Oak Park and opened other locations in Sterling Heights, Farmington Hills and Shelby Twp. All of the Mediterranean,m Chaldean and Middle-Eastern dishes are prepared fresh daily by a team of exceptional chef’s. There are various specialty Chaldean dishes on the menu that are created from timeless traditional recipes; that originate from the culture and heritage of the Chaldeans.

Torrey (sp) and the rest of the team were phenomenal! They truly made my birthday special, so I’ll definitely be back and plan to host a few friends next time!

Food is absolutely delicious. Great food. Wait staff is severely understaffed. Hire more wait staff. Food is too damn good to have people shy away due to service.

We have been to Sahara in the past and had a totally different and better experience. Last night the food was really bad. Not sure what was up. Also the wait person added 20% gratuity to our bill without mentioning it and we were a party of 3. That didn’t seem appropriate, glad we noticed it.

The ambience of Sahara was beautiful but the food was subpar, its Coney Island food for half the price.

We had a large group and we were very well taken care of. We tried lots of different food between appetizers and meals and all of it was excellent. Definitely recommend!

Restaurant had an event going on during lunch so we couldn’t have a real conversation at our table without telling. This was supposed to be a business lunch meeting

Food was good but service was lacking - servers were all over the place and I felt bad for those hustling to wait on tables as restaurant was not staffed properly Servers had to be flagged down Food was decent Seems like there is lack of management which is too bad because it’s a good location with good food
