The menu follows a Southern-fried meat-and-three concept, meaning diners order a meat, plus three sides. Those will include Ruthie’s mac and cheese, of course, but also white-soy-braised greens, stewed chickpeas and smoked cauliflower with a spicy soy glaze. “We’re going to be changing it a lot based on seasonality,” Hill says of the menu. “ Every vegetable has got to be fantastic because it has to stand on its own.” One thing that will help that: Hill is already growing all of the restaurant’s own herbs at his South Arlington community garden plot.

Seating was fast, food came quickly, flavors were delightful and our waiter —Jared— was funny, friendly and very responsive to our requests (extra fennel for the salad, and the receipt quickly since our party had time constraints). We love Ruthie’s All Day - it always gives us a warm, fuzzy, and memorable feeling, and fills our tummies with delicious food!

The Best! I took out-of-town guests to dinner and all three of them want a Ruthie's in their neighborhood. One is married to a chef. Great waitress, great food, great fun!

Made a reservation on a busy Sunday afternoon and arrived 45 minutes early. We were seated exactly at our reservation time - we would have been seated faster had we just put our name on the waiting list. After ordering, we waited an inordinate amount of time to get two cups of coffee, which were never offered to be refilled. I had the Fried chicken biscuit which was absolutely delicious and enough for two meals. My partner had the Brisket Bennie which to be honest, didn't look appealing but he did finish it. Our server was more than pleasant, but inattentive to us after our meal was served. I know this is a popular place, but I hope they focus on superior customer service lest the clientele will surely fade away.

Food was sent back twice, brought out eggs scrambled instead of over hard!! Finally got it right then bacon and sausage was both cooked hard.. coffee that was being poured was warm, not hat!!! It wasn’t a good experience. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!!
