The menu follows a Southern-fried meat-and-three concept, meaning diners order a meat, plus three sides. Those will include Ruthie’s mac and cheese, of course, but also white-soy-braised greens, stewed chickpeas and smoked cauliflower with a spicy soy glaze. “We’re going to be changing it a lot based on seasonality,” Hill says of the menu. “ Every vegetable has got to be fantastic because it has to stand on its own.” One thing that will help that: Hill is already growing all of the restaurant’s own herbs at his South Arlington community garden plot.

The food was absolutely incredible. Weird having multiple servers and one with a very thick accent making it hard to order. The atmosphere is lovely and we’ll be back.

A delicious meal for both meat eaters and vegetarians. They were out of the wine vintage that we selected and instead of automatically giving us the next vintage they had they asked if we wanted it or wanted a different wine. We selected a different wine but they were able to find the original one and it went well with our meals. I recommend the cornbread and save room for dessert!

The broiled oysters & hush puppies were great, and we both had the NY strip. Prepared perfectly, the peppercorn sauce was perfect. Don’t miss the macaroni & cheese, the crust was so good! They have a good mocktail selection in addition to fun cocktails. The price point was fine, and we found street parking. Service from Jon W was the best part, he was helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks!

Very good food & service. Really liked the shrimp main course & the campfire cookies. We enjoyed our meal with friends but it was quite noisy & sometimes hard to hear.

Ruthie’s always has great BBQ options and specials. The halibut special was delicious. Always love the variety of sides available. Appreciate being able to move a party of 6 inside that was originally booked for the patio due to inclement weather. Great value.
