The menu follows a Southern-fried meat-and-three concept, meaning diners order a meat, plus three sides. Those will include Ruthie’s mac and cheese, of course, but also white-soy-braised greens, stewed chickpeas and smoked cauliflower with a spicy soy glaze. “We’re going to be changing it a lot based on seasonality,” Hill says of the menu. “ Every vegetable has got to be fantastic because it has to stand on its own.” One thing that will help that: Hill is already growing all of the restaurant’s own herbs at his South Arlington community garden plot.

The broiled oysters & hush puppies were great, and we both had the NY strip. Prepared perfectly, the peppercorn sauce was perfect. Don’t miss the macaroni & cheese, the crust was so good! They have a good mocktail selection in addition to fun cocktails. The price point was fine, and we found street parking. Service from Jon W was the best part, he was helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks!

Very good food & service. Really liked the shrimp main course & the campfire cookies. We enjoyed our meal with friends but it was quite noisy & sometimes hard to hear.

Ruthie’s always has great BBQ options and specials. The halibut special was delicious. Always love the variety of sides available. Appreciate being able to move a party of 6 inside that was originally booked for the patio due to inclement weather. Great value.

While we have favorite items on the regular menu at Ruthie's All-Day, we look forward to sampling off-menu specials that are becoming more common at RAD. During our most recent visit, we enjoyed the terrific pan-seared monkfish entree (moist, tender, accompanied by a chimichurri sauce) and an excellent beet salad. We saved room for the ever-tasty bourbon peach cobbler - our way of giving thanks for the extended peach season in the mid-Atlantic region!

Brunch on Sunday's is lively to be sure. Not a lot of vegetarian options so i ordered sides. Worked out well.
