I had the seafood special and was somewhat disappointed, which is unusual for the Runcorn Tavern as usually I enjoy the food. The calamari was tough and overdone and the prawns obviously no so fresh. Perhaps more disappointing was that this was a $42 meal. Overall for this experience 4.5/10 when usually it is a 9/10. My wife's meal and my sons meal were fine.

The menu is always good catering for seniors and young ones. Everyone enjoys the salad bar.

This is our local Tavern and we've been coming here a very long time. Normally once a fortnight but we might try somewhere different. Last night my husband had Fish and chips - the fish was lovely but the chips were cold even when he first tried them. Last time we visited, he asked for a medium steak and it was more like well done. My son and I both ordered a pizza and they were delicious and hot. I'm only a small person so I knew I wouldn't eat a whole pizza but figured I could get a to go box and take the rest home. Well, no I couldn't because they don't do that - apparently because they have a part buffet they won't give boxes to take your meal home. Whilst I understand the idea it really upset me that honest people are being denied the right to take our purchased meals home because they are worried that we all must be going to steal from the buffet. I did wrap my leftovers in a serviette to bring home.

We always enjoy the food and service at the Runcorn Tavern. The food has been very good in recent years (our best compliments to the chef and their team), and often it is exceptional for the price. We visit several times a month.

We went the week before and the food was amazing so went again this week and we were disappointed . The food was overcooked. Burger patty was burnt and the chicken parmy was dry.

I had the Buffet - the salad side was OK, however the "Hot" Buffet side, the food was too cold there isn't enough heat in the hot box to keep the food hot

The food was great value.. only let down was the staff and the attitude... they need to smile a little more.

From start to finish, we were disappointed. I asked to have salad bar added to an entree and dessert, I'm not sure if things have changed but it used to get added on as an upgrade, the girl charged me for complete separate meals, stand alone salad bar, which I accepted, however the salad bar was terrible. Food was either, stale, tasteless or cold. Even a sliced cucumber was horrendous. My sons calamari was dripping in oil, a puddle of it, infact, sat under it on the plate. The garlic prawns, once a delicious dish was inedible. It was left to be thrown away. Caesar salad? How does one mess that up? My daughter ordered waffles for dinner, we stipulated it as a main, it never arrived. After asking 3 times, we simply asked for it to be put in a take away container so she could eat on the way home. We heard the table behind us rating the venue highly from previous experience, something I did as we drove to the venue. We heard their tune change as they experienced similar to us and agreed that it was a terrible experience on this particular night. $161 excluding drinks for terrible everything is very poor in my opinion. Lessons are to be learnt by all. Ours is to not return.

The snitty’s were average. The steak in the special was like eating a leather boot so I have been told
