Runa Farm, is an intensely rustic inspired hotel, country pub and wedding venue quite unlike any other, combining natural rural beauty with cool Balearic vibes to deliver something wholly unique, as its guests will discover…

In brief, it was our plan to create an individual and special destination for “boho, honest and earthy” experiences with the farm and its produce at the very heart.

The result is a loveable, laid-back and luxurious County Durham country retreat complete with standout spaces and suites, cool glamping and field-to-fork dining, inviting people to gather, feast, stay, and enjoy every element of its feelgood spirit and endless appeal.

The food tasted really good, portions were healthy and meals were reasonably priced. The restaurant did not appear busy, but we felt like the service was quite slow. Nobody ever came to take our dessert order, so I eventually went to the bar to pay the bill, which is where lots of the staff were gathering.

We came to mark one year till we get married at Runa Farm and we had the most gorgeous evening. The food was outstanding and the service was amazing thank you

Having booked my wedding there a year prior we decided to celebrate our anniversary there. Big mistake I had heard some bad feedback but argued against it as the wedding was amazing but I ordered fish and chips with mushy peas and curry sauce my wife ordered steak and truffle chips! Lovely then the food arrived fish and chips with garden peas and no curry sauce and fries with no truffle with my wife’s steak! The waiter eventually was flagged down and he took away the garden peas and the fries from my wife’s plate and we waited for a good 10 minutes for the waiter to return with the correct order. I then requested can I possibly have some vinegar for my chips and he returned with a bowl full of vinegar which I spilt all over my food and ruined what quite honestly was a cold dish anyway!

The restaurant was excellent value for money. The cleanliness and ambience was tremendous. The waiter went out of his way to help and the food was delicious.

Abit disappointed with our meal this evening compared to past visits. Beef tough Very salty Sundae advertised as having meringue. None present.

Absolutely beautiful food, amazing staff and wonderful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. Best Sunday roast we’ve had in a very long time!

We were placed at a dirty table upon arrival which was a disappointing start, only to get worse. We received water for the table only to be described as dirty tasting tap water. We ordered drinks which we watched sat on the bar top for around 15 minutes before being served to our table. We then ordered our meal with a starter of olives which took another 15 minutes to arrive, even more disappointing when no cooking is required for this option. Moments later we received our main meals to be shocked by both the presentation and taste. The vegetable linguini was not as described on the menu and had an overpowering taste on coriander, something that I would have avoided if stated on the menu. This was also the case for a side of chipotle slaw which again was overpowered by coriander. Overall a booking we wish we had never made especially with the cost of the meals being as pricey as they are. We were informed of an updated menu on arrival and having visited this restaurant with a previous menu on offer, I have to say that the new menu is not worth the prices charged. It is such a shame that we had to experience this as the venue is beautiful and we wish we could say we will visit again but we will not.
