Rumi's Kitchen first opened more than a decade ago in Atlanta, the result of years of development by Chef / Owner Ali Mesghali. Showcasing the flavors of Iran -- fresh herbs, kabobs cooked over an open-fire grill -- quickly won loyal guests at the original location in Sandy Springs, GA and set us on pace to open our first restaurant outside of Georgia in 2020. Rumi was a 13th-century Persian poet whose words and life teach us how to find inner peace, happiness and love. We invite you to Rumi’s Kitchen where fresh, healthy food and attentive Persian hospitality await you.

I really wanted to love Rumi's Kitchen as I chose it for a late bday celebration. The aesthetics in the restaurant were beautiful. We had a sweet host and she was accommodating in sitting us at a quieter table. The appetizer bowl with pide was a nice touch and my glass never went empty of water, so the waitstaff was very attentive. However, our specific server did not hold that caliber of attentiveness! He had such little interaction with our table that he didn't even provide his name or request a drink order outside of still or sparkling water. As a first-time patron, I really like to learn about the restaurant and the fine dining experience I'm about embark on. I saw other servers enthusiastically going through popular offerings and providing recommendations. We had zero of that energy from our server and I'm not sure if it was from inexperience or just pre-occupied with other tables. This lackluster interaction for customers about to splurge on a nice weekday dinner left a bad taste in my mouth. We ordered the Mirza (smoked eggplant) appetizer and it was delicious! The perfect combination of smoky flavors, saltiness, and crunch! It was served hot and sizable plate to share. For our mains, we ordered the lamb shank and the Chilean sea bass. The serving sizes were massive so you definitely get the bang for your buck. The Sea bass is a popular dish and I will say that the fish was cooked to perfection! But the flavor beyond that was nonexistent. Even adding the Sumac spice didn't elevate the flavor as I'd hope. And the rice was even more bland! The saving grace for entrees was the lamb shank and all its juicy, tender, FLAVORFUL glory. The meat melted in your mouth. The dish came with the same rice so no need to dive further into it. It would've been nice to know that we could've switched our sides out for a different rice or even some veggies. However, the waiter never granted us this opportunity. Although mostly delicious, the service left a bad taste in my mouth.

Great service! Amazing food! The appetizers alone could fill anyones soul with joy! I loved the khask e bademjoon, the spinach date salad and then for main course my friend had the sea bass (AMAZING) I had the joujeh kabob! The meat was so tender- just can't go wrong with this place!

Overall, great spot. I’d certainly recommend this place to a friend. Food was great and fair value. Thought it was a bit loud, and tables too cramped together. There’s definitely some awful places tables in here that I would have been irritated if we made reservations ages in advance and got seated there. Service we received was fine but nothing above expectation.

I love the food but the restaurant is way too noisy. We couldn’t talk. Eating should be about the experience of being with people you enjoy with great food. The food was great but the noise made it so much less enjoyable. I love the food but I won’t be back.
