Rumi's Kitchen first opened more than a decade ago in Atlanta, the result of years of development by Chef / Owner Ali Mesghali. Showcasing the flavors of Iran -- fresh herbs, kabobs cooked over an open-fire grill -- quickly won loyal guests at the original location in Sandy Springs, GA and set us on pace to open our first restaurant outside of Georgia in 2020. Rumi was a 13th-century Persian poet whose words and life teach us how to find inner peace, happiness and love. We invite you to Rumi’s Kitchen where fresh, healthy food and attentive Persian hospitality await you.

Rumi’s is always a transcendental experience. Lovely restaurant with exotic vibes, food that is cooked to perfection with really unusual flavor combinations. I took a few junior colleagues for a business dinner and they were all grateful.

One of the best Persian Food places in DC. Amazing food and truly special Tea. Generous portions and fantastic service. Will be introducing this place to friends as well. Five Stars.

Amazing food, rich in flavors and authentic. We tried the oyster humus, the shrimp and the sea bass…and the cardamom cake…all great! Our waiter was great too! Highly recommend! Will be back!

Food is amazing. Rack of lamb is the best. You need to order the cauliflower and the labne.

One of my best dining experiences in such a long time. We were seated at one of the best tables in the place. There are three tables opposite the bar and these are simply where you want to be seated. The food was excellent and authentic. Our server Autumn was such a delight. She was so attentive to our needs. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 ? The dessert was lacking. We ordered the baklava and it was dry.

We were here for an early dinner. What a fabulous experience! The food was delicious. Hummus with tahini was creamy and my Chilean sea bass with saffron was cooked perfectly. My BF loved his salad and rice so much he couldn’t finish his chicken. Plates are big. Flavors are bright and balanced, and servers are happy to explain dishes if you are unfamiliar with Persian food. Overall a highlight of our trip to DC.

The Persian food is like nowhere else in town. Loved the appetizers and rice is out of this world!
