My husband and I went to Rue 561 to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary. We already knew the restaurant was very expensive but wanted to treat ourselves on this very special occasion. When I made the reservation, I was asked if it was a special occasion. I checked off anniversary. Not sure why I was asked since no one at the restaurant acknowledged it. We ordered the Octopus and chorizo for an appetizer. It was very good, however there was an abundant about of potatoes. I ordered the bouillabaisse and was very disappointed. There were more fingerling potatoes at the bottom of the bowl than there was fish which made the dish look more abundant than it was plus it needed a bit of salt. For $48, I expected better. My husband ordered the Mojo Pork which was good albeit a little more well done than he would have liked. Because of so many great reviews, we were excited to dine there despite the high prices and ended up being disappointed.

Excellent meal! It was our first time- we went for date night. Started with the Charcuterie, which didn’t have crackers but had breadsticks instead (odd in my opinion, but still delicious). Then we had the pork chop and the fillet. Delicious!! Best we’ve ever had of each. Definitely will go back.

Very overpriced and overrated. The food prep and quality of the food was very underwhelming. The service was fair at best and the ambiance non-existent. The only recommendation I'll offer is that anyone should try another restaurant before going here.

Awesome place! My vegetarian husband loved the rigatoni, my mom absolutely loved the French cut chicken, and I adored the 16 ounce prime ribeye!! The only one that wasn’t extremely pleased was my dad who ordered the Bouillabaisse. Although tasty, he said the fish was dry. The churro dessert is outstanding!! Great anniversary celebration for us all!!

I feel they're a bit confused as to the type of restaurant it is Steakhouse or Italian. Food was good, but I expected better. Limited salad selections wedge & chopped. Suggest something lighter Arugula or beet. I had the Salmon which had a nice smokey flavor. I asked for temperature to be medium, and it was served well done. Husband had chicken which was served over linguine. The dish did not need the linguine. The seasonings were spot on. There was no selection of fresh fish. It's August how's that possible? The service was wonderful.

I never write reviews but I feel extremely compelled due to how great my experience was the food was out of this world. I frequently eat out and I have to say the best restaurant I’ve been too by far service was incredible. My family ordered just about everything on the menu and everyone was extremely pleased our meals and appetizers were the topic of discussion the rest of the night.

Nice decor, small, intimate place, ordered 2 identical filets, but one was over cooked, king crab leg special was pricey, but delicious and beet salad special was nice, but beets were undercooked and tough to cut. Everything is a la cart so pretty pricey for what you get. Service was good and dark chocolate gelato was very good. Probably won’t go back after spending $300 for 2 people. Glad it was a byo :)
