We created Rubedo to share our passion for natural wines and quality food. Our goal is to promote the hard work and the talent of people who treat nature with the utmost respect.
Our wines and their grapes have never seen any mechanical nor chemical treatment. They are the direct expression of the soil, the climate, the tradition and the talent of the winemaker. As a result, these wines often come with no added sulphites: they will surprise, intrigue and exhilarate you with their energy.
We take a similar approach in the kitchen. Our goal is to source unadulterated naturally grown ingredients. The style of our cooking is European bistro food and the menu is dictated by season and quality. Our chefs treat the ingredients with the same respect our winemakers treat their grapes and make their wines.
We are proud of the Italian culinary heritage of many of us, and have sampled many old family recipes throughout the years: these will appear on the menu every now and then.

The food here is SO delicious. The staff really friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere. Very cosy. Might just be our favourite Stokey restaurant!

Food was great, inventive but not performative..good value other than the oysters: 4 for 20 quid is redic. Room was small tables too small, the problem with all restos in old shops. Kept thinking of noble rot/brutto/sessions etc same dough but different game. When I told the affable maytra D that my wife can’t drink natural wine as it makes her sick he pulled a redic face like he’d never heard of that/I was a moron and then said oh we will Definitely find one she can drink..ffs..he was also French so; THERES THAT the wines i had were fine, but nothing to remems..couldn’t stop asking me if I wanted another, the classic resto that makes dough from booze conundrum..chef probably deserves a bigger room and a mixed wine list..

We had high hopes for this restaurant after reading glowing reviews about its food and wine, especially since it's so close to home. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. For a place that prides itself on a passion for wine, the selection by the glass was surprisingly limited. One of our guests was disappointed to find that there was only one red wine option available by the glass. Despite the abundance of wines displayed throughout the restaurant, the waitress informed us that they were unwilling to open another bottle, leaving our guest with no choice but a chilled wine, which wasn't what he wanted, they didn’t bother to offer him a refill, simply taking away his empty glass mid-meal without a word. As for the food, it was distinctly average. In an area with so many excellent dining options at the same price point—such as Primeur, Cadet, Jolene, and Saltene—this restaurant doesn’t come close to measuring up Overall, we left feeling disappointed and unlikely to return. For the price and reputation, we expected much more.

In summary: food, wine and service all exceeded expectations - a great find! This place is a revelation and a million miles away from some of the more mainstream, predictable venues that abound in London. We went for a family birthday and the ambiance was great. Speak to the staff and get some guidance on the (special and unusual) wines and menu. We took the recommendation of a first bottle of Angiolino Maule / Bianco Masieri - never heard of the grape variety before! - and were not disappointed. Essentially we had ALL the starters on the menu to share amongst us and enjoy the superior sourcing and presentation. Mains were pasta dominated (!) but the quality and sauces elevated the experience - the gnocchi with pork and fennel was a high point. You get the picture - try it for yourself and let the staff guide you, I doubt you will be disappointed. We will be back...

Love this restaurant. Quite unassuming from the front but a very cosy, inviting atmosphere inside. Great food, great service and not too pricey.
