If you’re in Birmingham, something to tick off your bucket list is having a REAL BALTI EXPERIENCE, this experience you can only have at the Award winning Royal Watan Kashmiri Restaurant who have been established since 1984. We serve authentic Balti dishes and Large Family Naan beards in a modern and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. Our Grandma’s recipe of Lassawalla Gosht has been featured on many mainstream media outlets and won many awards. Booked for my husbands 40th birthday it was incredible! Not only was the food delicious, but the staff were just amazing. They couldn’t do enough for us. Absolutely would recommend to anyone!

We were a party of 8, but the service was friendly and efficient with everyone's meals served together, all freshly cooked, hot and really full of fresh flavours. The food here is better than any other similar restaurants I have tried and great value for money.

Absolutely beautiful starters and currys and ordered the Honey peshawar naan and was a little disappointed with the sweetness and lack of coconut and sultanas. But my god the size of it was Huge!!!! The bits that had filling were delicious but could do with a more consistent filling. The staff were a little slow with drinks and struggled to get there attention at times.but overall a VERY yummy curry. Also worth noting the place is alcohol free,I believe you can take your own. But they do not sell alcohol

A really lovely meal, a group of 10 of us and everyone loved the food and had a great time. Brilliant service and very reasonable, we will all be back.

We’ve been using the Watan since 1989, when it all looked very different! It’s always been the best Balti restaurant we have ever been to and even though we now live on the South Coast every time we are in the Midlands we always go back! The consistency of the taste and quality of the food is incredible, I have always had the same Balti (boring, I know) and it tasted the same last night as the first time I had it in 1989, delicious! They never forget us and we always get a warm welcome ☺️ Well done guys, your dad must be so proud of your achievements! 💙

Have been coming here since mid 1980's Always an outstanding meal. I can't praise Imran and his family enough. Food quality is by far the best, try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed! I suggest booking at the weekends though.

A Birmingham Gem: Culinary Delights Await. Whenever I visit Birmingham, I can't help but stop by this wonderful restaurant. The food is always exceptional—generous portions, incredibly flavorful, and authentically prepared. The staff are also very friendly and attentive. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant are quite nice as well. Unfortunately, the owner was not present during my most recent visit on Friday, as he was away on holiday. While it was a bit unfortunate not to see his welcoming presence, he certainly deserves some time off, considering the excellent job he does running the establishment. See you next time, Imran, Insh'Allah. A Norwich lover of this wonderful place.💚
