    Really want to like this place as it has been highly recommended and is within walking distance of our new home. We've been twice within a couple of weeks - simply for convenience. People working there are really lovely, but the very young staff don't seem to know what they're doing - kids food came out long before adult food ready. There were then items missing off the plate that we had to request (no apology - just laughed at the mistake). Chips massively overcooked, other items had clearly just been thrown in a deep fat fryer and came out dripping in oil (chicken schnitzel - not good..!). We won't be rushing back, but we WILL give it another go in a few months to see if things improve as I really DO want to like it (the setting and beer garden are fantastic, so would definitely use it for drinks - just not food). Hoping we simply caught them on two bad days.

    Staff rude saying not seating customers. Food was burnt and cold on sunday dinner. Fish and chips very oily. Definately wont return.

    Met friends at Royal Oak for evening meal. Was not disappointed , the food was excellent . All staff were friendly and very pleasant, service was a little slow but given that it was a Friday evening staff were busy and were apologetic when they brought our food - no complaints . Will definitely be back.

    Oh my lord I can’t believe this after last Tuesday when we had a really lovely meal what happened the starter was average the main corse was also average the salad on both was just a few leaves. It was a poor meal where as last Tuesday’s meal was absolutely great. Must have been a different chef. Sorry to give a bad review

    I had the sea bass which was excellent, but I found the risotto to be a little bit too wet. Great to have dog - free dining

    Booked online about 1.5hr before meal. Booked the restaurant. Arrived but told please just find a table in the bar, despite my restaurant booking. Not sure if restaurant was full but doubted it was as it was so quiet. 🤷 Shame as last time was a lovely experience.

    Service bad had to ask for drinks 3 times place was not even busy , pork dinner advertised with crackling not a scratching in sight , meat was like sandwich pork
