Located in the thriving area of Phoenix's Roosevelt Row, Rough Rider offers a Modern American menu accompanied by unique cocktails inspired by recipes of the late 1800's. Venture down our private elevator and be transported back in time to a presidential lounge filled with delectable dishes and unforgettable libations fit for Teddy himself.
Enter the lobby through the glass doors located in the alley to the northeast and down the middle elevator to the basement.

Had a nice time at RR. The whole Speak Easy experience was pretty cool. Taking the elevator to the basement and walking out of the elevator to a basement turned into Bar/ restaurant was cool. Very crowded and obviously popular spot. We had reservations so our wait wasnt long. We were immediately greeted and attended to. The cocktail drinks were pretty good. As for an appetizer we had a Small Sea food Tower, it was pretty good. Sea food Tower was priced at MP. For dinner we had 3 different plates and they were ok. For the price, id say a lil overpriced but that's my opinion. The atmosphere and the amount of people there is what made the experience pretty cool. If we were to go back, we'd definitely do Happy Hour. A few drinks and a appetizer or 2 and that would be the extent of the evening. Again, cool spot, food was ok but a bit overpriced for the taste and portions.

My wife and I have been coming to Rough Rider since they opened! And every time we have dinner here it’s always a great experience! We live in Avondale and it’s worth the drive!!! Great food and amazing staff!!

only saving grace was the crab dip....rest if the food and drinks WAY overpriced and comparable to other places but costs more here. If you want to pay to sit and eat in a freezing basement that's loud...this place is for you. We asked to move over 2 seats and we're refused, saying that they would be taken, and NO ONE used them or were seated the entire time we were there. Poor service high cost food. Go to Mastros instead

I was so looking forward to trying this place. It took 15 mins for our waitress to get to the table. Their beer & cocktails were delicious. The food was underwhelming. The crab dip was pretty good. We ordered their "wagyu" medium rare & it came out super rare. We asked them if they could bring us a steak cooked more & they took that $70 steak & put the SAME steak back on the grill to cook it more. Their steaks come out sliced, which any experienced chef would know once they cut it open that was not a medium rare steak. The waitress admitted that they did give us back the same steak they just cooked the pieces on the grill (which then made the steak taste old) & next time, I should request a brand new steak because that's what they do when they're busy. I told her I assumed at a nice restaurant like this that this would have automatically happened. We often dine at fine steakhouses & I also worked for some for many years & I have NEVER heard of that happening.

Our visit was great! My wife wanted a Panna cotta but they didn't have it however we were comped a delicious smores brownie! Our server was attentive and good sense of humor! Thank you for making this a great valentines dinner!

Our waitress Hilary was outstanding as was the food. The atmosphere as usual was a lot of fun. We all had a great time and enjoyed ourselves very much. If I had one complaint, it would be the parking is not good, but should be no reflection on the restaurant.

Really fun atmosphere, great food and incredible service (Nicole was seriously awesome)...highly recommend for a fun meal/drink out!
