Rossoblu celebrates chef Steve Samson’s two home cities, Los Angeles and Bologna, Italy. The menu features house made salumi, soulful pastas, market produce, and wood grilled fish and meats.

Located in downtown’s City Market South, the site of Los Angeles’s original produce market, Rossoblu’s vaulted dining room and open kitchen create a festive dining environment. The restaurant’s private outdoor piazza allows al fresco diners to feel far removed from the nearby city bustle. An intimate basement wine cellar can be reserved for private parties.

    Hadn’t been since a Piedmontese wine dinner last year and it’s always so so good! Brought my Italian cousin from New York and he loved it. We shared the panzanella, the pasta with rapini and sausage, and the Branzino. All delicious! And just the right amount of food. That and a glass of the Falanghina was a perfect Sunday supper with fam.

    Will not go back. Food was just so so. We ordered branzino was dry and tasteless.

    Everything was wonderful. Went for my friend's birthday. Wine, food and service were great. Surprised her with birthday cookie and sang Happy Birthday.

    They were able to accommodate a last minute guest at our table, and the service was lovely. Server was fast, efficient and professional. Food was absolutely delicious and fresh. One of the guests was amazed that there was a Pinot Grigio from a very small town in northern Italy. We had two guests, one vegetarian and one with a gluten allergy, both guests had many options to choose from. Overall, we were absolutely delighted. Thank you so much.

    we had brunch at Rossoblu in the outdoor patio and the weather was near spectacular at noon. We started with a nice salad of apples and pears with a soft cheese, whose name I've forgotten. I had the ricotta pancakes + sausage which is a favorite. My best friend had a hamburger smothered with bolognese sauce. Indulgent but very tasty with plenty of fries.

    Return of brunch at Rossoblu did not disappoint!! Try one of the spritzes to make it festive (the non alcoholic drinks looked great too). I had the mandarin limoncello spritz with mint and basil and it was super refreshing. Bellinis and mimosas always work too. We split the olive oil cake with ricotta and berries (on the dessert menu but we did it as a delicious starter) and I had the burger and my friend had the avocado toast (add poached eggs!). My friend loved the simply dressed salad that came with the avocado toast. The burger was a divine concoction with a ragu on top of the perfectly seasoned beef. Apennine fries were perfection as well.

    My partner & I decided to have a last minute date night, and Rossoblu did not let us down ! We made reservations about an hour before heading out (luckily there were openings) and arrived a few minutes early. We sat at the bar and had some drinks before being seated. Shout out to Danny, our bartender ! Great conversation and great mixes. The music in the background paired very well with the ambiance. We skipped on appetizers but had Pizza (Margherita), a Pasta (Lasagna) and a Main (Hangar Steak) to share. The pizza is to die for. So light, it melts in your mouth. The Lasagna: You know the food is great when you don’t need to add anything extra to the dish. We left satisfied with all the dishes. But wished we ordered a pizza to go ! Definitely, will be back soon.
