Rossoblu celebrates chef Steve Samson’s two home cities, Los Angeles and Bologna, Italy. The menu features house made salumi, soulful pastas, market produce, and wood grilled fish and meats.

Located in downtown’s City Market South, the site of Los Angeles’s original produce market, Rossoblu’s vaulted dining room and open kitchen create a festive dining environment. The restaurant’s private outdoor piazza allows al fresco diners to feel far removed from the nearby city bustle. An intimate basement wine cellar can be reserved for private parties.

Rossoblu is probably my favorite Italian restaurant in LA. Italy is my birthplace and this is the hearty food of Bologna, so don't expect the stereotypical "mediterranean" Italian restaurant. Food is outstanding, it's incredibly rich (thinking of their pillar food, the cotoletta alla Bolognese) and yet incredibly easy to digest because of the quality of their ingredients and cooking skills. Excellent bar and barman, wonderful service, beautiful location with a stunning open kitchen.

Really love the location and the atmosphere. The drinks were good, but the food was less to be desired. To be fair my wife and I just got back from Italy, but overall the food was kind of bland for the price.

I’ve been here at least 6 times, and every time it’s fantastic. The service, the food, service, vibe and style. Dinner is always delish, no matter what you order, but that brunch… THAT BRUNCH!!! One of my LA faves.

Loved everything. The service was especially wonderful. We had a late (8:30) reservation on a weeknight in part to have a quiet and relaxed evening where we can actually hear each other, like the last time we came, and Rossoblu really delivered. Wouldn't change a thing!
