Located in the historic Fulton Market district of Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, Rose Mary is Chef/Owner Joe Flamm’s debut restaurant inspired by his Italian heritage and the bold, bright flavors of Croatian cuisine. The boisterous space—named for Flamm’s grandmothers, Mary and Mary Rose, and the herb rosemary, which grows natively along the Italian and Croatian coastlines—offers a seasonal menu of rustic yet refined dishes that encapsulate what Flamm has coined “Adriatic drinking food”.

The food was not as flavorful as during our first visit. The portions were small especially the branzino. And then in addition to the 10% tax, 20% tip, they’re adding a 4% service charge — into insane. I won’t be going back.

Good quality food and drinks. We tried the ala norma pasta. Nobody at the table liked and the server admitted it was not a favorite of hers. Would go back and will stick to our favorites.

The service was amazing. They were very attentive. Loved the open kitchen concept. The food…. It was a bit of a letdown. It was…. Okay. We tried a variety of dishes and found them all to be just ok. The lamb ragú was made with lasagna noodles that were very long and messy and way undercooked. Some might claim they were al dente but it needed like another couple minutes. All sauces were quite acidic and needed some balance. The prosciutto and melon was a nice combination of flavors but the melon was not ripe. My husband enjoyed the squid ink risotto. Meat was cooked well etc. I don’t know, just fell flat for me. Again through… service was great but I would not go back.

Lively atmosphere. Open dining room with view of kitchen. Really appreciated the separate dairy free menu. Very friendly and efficient service. Small plates were all great for sharing.

We had a delicious meal and a wonderful server. Zucchini fritters, grilled clams, burrata salad with peaches, lamb and the gnocchi with beef cheeks. So very good.

Had a wonderful meal celebrating a friends birthday. Would recommend the carrot risotto, Gnocchi and Berry crostata dish.

I love Rosemary. Every time I visit, it’s a great experience. The service is great and the waitstaff are always knowledgeable and attentive.

Everything was wonderful! Our server made great recommendations, food was coursed out perfectly and was DELICIOUS! Cocktails and wine selections were great. Stand out dish for us was the Duck Sausage with polenta 🤤

Had the burek, clams, caccio e pepe, squid risotto, and branzino. It was all so good that we will have trouble ordering new items next time! Cocktails and dessert were fantastic as well! It made for a great birthday experience! Oh, and of course, our service was absolutely wonderful!
