The Rose & Crown is your quintessential country pub in the middle of an idyllic part of Kent.

The 17th Century building has seen some comings and goings over the years but has been in the safe hands of Dermot and Lisa Nally since November 2013. The promise is to deliver a warm and friendly welcome to all our visitors and hope that they can relax and enjoy the experience.

We use only locally sourced produce and maintain a fresh focus on what we serve.

The burger was nice but as it’s so thick it tends to be very dry , the bun was so hard I actually couldn’t eat any of it. Didn’t have a dessert as not much choice and quite expensive

Excellent Sunday Roast, we were a table of 8 sitting in the garden, all our Roast dinners arrived together, hot, very well presented and an extremely good selection of vegetables. All our our party thoroughly enjoyed the lunch and the service was excellent taking both drink and food orders throughout out dinner. Our table was booked for 4.15 pm and to enjoy a fresh Sunday Roast at this time and my request for pink roast sirloin was met. Overall a really good experience with friendly staff and excellent food, we will visit again.

First time visiting and only 10 mins from home. All staff were lovely and food was fab!!

This pub is a gem and would recommend to everyone. The pub garden is huge and dogs and kids are welcome. The food is far beyond pub grub and the wine and bubbles range is priced. The staff, as always, are kind, attentive and so welcoming. We will be back! There’s also a kids play area.

A nice welcome but took some time for the menus to come. Fish and chips were good, as was the roast beef. Roast chicken not as good, leg was good but the breast was rather solid and, I suspect, was not cooked on the bird. Potatoes and green veg were pleasant but the other veg not so. The cauliflower cheese and swede and potato mash portions were too small. The Swede and potato mash itself was actually a puree.

Service was good but generally the food was a little disappointing. Chips greasy, fish watery, insufficient veg and scotch egg not really special.
