    Our server, Madison, I think, was fantastic…so helpful and so attentive. We were a bit picky and she jumped on board with us and made things happen. Go, Maddy! Hi, Tiffany…dreamed about cornbread and fried green tomatoes! ❤️

    Great food and flavors. Not the most comfortable seats. Some dishes seemed a bit over priced for what they were. Very large portions, so I recommend sharing. Service was fantastic. We will be back to try it again.

    We drive in from Houston to come here. Order the whole menu….its all amazing. Friendliest greeting and host staff I’ve seen, service is casual, not pushy, but attentive. Food is unreal…deviled eggs are the best I’ve had. Lamb pasta is amazing. Really everything. Shef Tiffany is online most nights right where diners can see and she’s gracious enough to come around for photos and talk to guests. She has to be tired, she’s actually working a shift but she’s pleasant and makes her guests/fans feel appreciated. I’ve never seen a chef work the inside expo, come take photos, and then right back online without skipping a beat. If you sit at the bar you can watch the whole show up close but all the seats are good

    Exceptional service with an excellent meal. Could make a meal of the cornbread alone. The staff is the best in town.

    The duck fried chicken is EVERYTHING we had heard it was. So good. It will be hard to eat fried chicken any other way from now on! Crispy very juicy and the seasoning was spot on! Biscuits are delicious! The cod cakes, the peach salad and the crawfish fried rice were amazing too!! The service was excellent and all were VERY friendly and accommodating. The obviance is very nice and welcoming! We will definitely be back!!

    It was quite a disappointment given the extensive accolades and attention given to this restaurant. The dinner started with delicious cornbread, very well made and warm. But, the gumbo was too salty and was largely one note. While the fried chicken was moist, the over-seasoned “crust” left a terrible after taste. The fish was good but was accompanied with greasy crawfish rice that tasted like it was prepared and simply warmed up. The cobbler was okay, though it had some strange seasoning. The ice cream was awful. The talented trumpeter was so loud, we (and our guests) left with ringing ears and headaches. Dining room is small and loud - can’t talk with so much noise. To add to a disappointing meal, we were amazed that Roots penalized guests for using credit card to pay. Maybe others carty several hundred in cash - we didn’t. As a result, we were charged a 3.5% fee to pay with a credit card. Is t there a law against this? Don’t believe the hype. It was nit a good experience.

    Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit for dinner on Saturday evening. The gumbo and skillet cornbread were both delicious. We shared the Texas Redfish as the gumbo and cornbread were quite filling. The fish was perfectly cooked but I didn't care for the sauce. We also shared the fried yams and greens and both were both tasty and generous servings. A great culinary evening but the noise level is high.

    Loved this place. We went for an anniversary dinner. Couldn't resist having the fried chicken for two which is an entire bird (we didn't even get through half of it). Cornbread also a must and the collard greens too. We'll need to return to dig deeper into the menu. Also must mention how terrific was the service. Hostess incredibly personable and our waitress was knowledgable, friendly and helpful.

    Amazing food and experience. The chicken is moist and tastes almost grill fried. I loved the corn bread and the peach salad. The peach cobbler is now on my bucket list. The list I want to eat, rest and repeat!!
