Root & Bone draws its name from the staples of the American diet: meat and vegetables. It promises to deliver culinary excellence with southern charm.
Rooted and raised in the South, Chef Jeff McInnis grew up with southern comfort food and hospitality in his blood. His partner, Chef Janine Booth, hailing from Australia, brings with her a true passion for uniting people through food. This power couple already boasts several successful restaurants across the country and the Caribbean, with numerous accolades including three James Beard Award nominations. They are thrilled to be opening their fourth Root & Bone here in WNC. Root & Bone will showcase their southern-inspired cuisine with a modern twist, featuring award-winning dishes such as the Sweet Tea Brined Fried Chicken, Braised Brisket Meatloaf, Grilled Peach & Tomato Caprese Salad, and Barbecue Spareribs, alongside classic casual items like the R&B Burger, Crispy Fried Chicken Biscuits

Our entire table loved their food. We went for brunch and the music was super fun and chill. I had the omelet and I wish I had one right now. The bloody mary bar is a waste of money. It could use more condiments and the hot bloody mary mix is undeniable it's so hot. Other than that I love the place and so did all my friends!

**Restaurant Review: Root and Bone** My recent dining experience at Root and Bone was a delightful blend of rustic charm and lively energy. The atmosphere was a unique mix of country hip and rock excellence, creating an inviting backdrop for our meal. Upon arrival, my husband and I were warmly greeted by the staff, who made an effort to check in as they passed by, adding a personal touch to our visit. We arrived with a reservation made through the OpenTable app, which was honored promptly. However, our booth in the corner didn’t quite provide the intimate setting we were hoping for. This was somewhat overshadowed by a tipsy lady at the adjacent table, whose exuberance made her presence known. While this wasn’t a reflection of the restaurant itself, it did impact our overall experience. Now let’s talk about the food! Our appetizers were visually stunning. We sampled the pickled beet deviled eggs and the Tabasco jam chicken biscuits. Both were delicious, though I was hoping for a more pronounced kick from the Tabasco jam. Nonetheless, they were enjoyable starters. For the main course, I opted for the trout accompanied by risotto and roasted carrots, while my husband indulged in the spear rib meatloaf served with potatoes and braised broccolini. Each dish was seasoned well and presented beautifully, making for a satisfying meal. We concluded our dining experience with a classic apple pie topped with vanilla ice cream, which was the perfect sweet ending. I would rate the presentation a solid 10, with flavor and taste at a commendable 9. Overall, Root and Bone provided a busy, lively atmosphere that was perfect for a night out. Despite a few minor distractions, the friendly service and delectable food left us eager to return and explore more of their menu. Highly recommend for those looking for a vibrant dining experience!

During the colder months, the only negative I would say is the main room next to the kitchen is very loud.

Atmosphere great but a little noisy, food was very good but the side dishes that came with the entrées were way too small. Both my wife and I left hungry and she doesn’t really eat that much. overall experience, not good.

We enjoyed everything we had! It was our first time dining in so we tried a few things. Love the ziggy old fashioned Biscuit appetizer was some of the best biscuits I’ve ever had. Super soft and buttery. Corn soufflé was good We also ordered the fried chicken, brisket meatloaf and trout entrees. All done very well, but the meatloaf was my favorite. We finished with espresso, the chocolate cookie crunch ice cream and a Date cake with bourbon glaze and vanilla Ice cream. Pet friendly patio Great service We are looking forward to coming back.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Enjoyed every bite! Could turn down the volume down on the music. I don’t like to raise my voice at the table to talk. Otherwise perfect!!

Good was outstanding, service was Outstanding, did not like eating in the bar. It is too noisy. However, we love this place.

My husband and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary last evening and enjoyed everything so much! This was our third time coming here because it’s always such a great experience.

The food was excellent as was the service. Very unique atmosphere. So different from other restaurants in the area. We had early 5:30 reservations so it was quiet when we first arrived. The noise level understandably grew as the evening went on. We will certainly go again.
