Root & Bone draws its name from the staples of the American diet: meat and vegetables. It promises to deliver culinary excellence with southern charm.
Rooted and raised in the South, Chef Jeff McInnis grew up with southern comfort food and hospitality in his blood. His partner, Chef Janine Booth, hailing from Australia, brings with her a true passion for uniting people through food. This power couple already boasts several successful restaurants across the country and the Caribbean, with numerous accolades including three James Beard Award nominations. They are thrilled to be opening their fourth Root & Bone here in WNC. Root & Bone will showcase their southern-inspired cuisine with a modern twist, featuring award-winning dishes such as the Sweet Tea Brined Fried Chicken, Braised Brisket Meatloaf, Grilled Peach & Tomato Caprese Salad, and Barbecue Spareribs, alongside classic casual items like the R&B Burger, Crispy Fried Chicken Biscuits

We purposely tried a variety of menu offerings for our first visit. Everything was excellent, We chose to sit at the bar giving up the more formal table offered in the main dining area. Cory was terrific. My wife and I had a great date night.

What a lovely dinner my husband and I enjoyed! It was our first time and we loved everything! Food, service and atmosphere were great. Can’t wait to come back and try other menu items!

New place. My 2nd visit. Food delicious. Serving of trout small 1/2 fish for dinner seemed like it should have been a full fish. 2 halves for dinner price. Fried chicken biscuits outstanding. Very loud to carry on conversation on bar side, even with newly installed sound buffers.

Everything we had was delicious, but the deviled eggs and the pimento cheese grits were two of our favorites. Service was fantastic and we will absolutely be back!

My only complaint is the seating. It's very tight between tables (about 4 inches). It was hard to get a reservation (like the entire restaurant was full), but when we arrived there was only one other couple in the restaurant. The hostess attempted to get us to sit right on top of them and gave us a look when we asked for another table which she reluctantly did. Upon leaving, after spending 1-1/2 hours enjoying our meal, the place was half full with plenty of empty tables.

Very good food and service. Unfortunately, they were out of numerous items on the menu that we were interested in It and it was very noisy.

We always have a great experience there. I had the wedge salad with chicken . Healthy , plentiful and delicious. My husband had a juicy well prepared cheeseburger with homemade chips. Exciting flavor condiments included on all dishes.

The biscuits were phenomenal! Great drinks, delicious food, blues music on Thursday nights! Fantastic place all around. We'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good meal!

The food was great, creative twist on some of the menu items. Atmosphere was fine aside from the noise level. We had requested a quiet table since we had been forewarned. The restaurant tried, but there really is no way to meet that request. The tables are right on top of each other, hard surfaces abound hence the noise level was at a point where I could not hear my table mates. And to me, conversation is a large part of the dining experience. That was the big fail from my perspective. I hope they hear this issue from many and that they address it. Our waitress was clearly new, forgot one of my sides and coffee showed up after dessert was finished. But she was trying hard and will ultimately do well. Clearly she cared. Will I be back……not so sure unless I hear from others that the noise is addressed.
