The service at this location compared to West End is wildly better. The chips were also nicely hot and salted, though the colas did taste pretty bad. It was nice to have good service at a Rojo, as the ten times at west end have all been mediocre at best and we are super easy patrons and turn tables fast as we know what were there to order.

My wife and I tried Rojo the first time as a date night. Online menu looked amazing, and I was so excited to try so much. However, service was terrible. We waited over 10 minutes to be greeted by our server, drinks took forever, then ordering, then our check. Avocado egg rolls were good, but the sauce was awesome. The chicken tacos were underwhelming, just ordinary. My wife shared similar thoughts on her fish tacos. We were both bewildered by the purée of refried beans, and thought we should’ve been given soup spoons instead of forks. We both left, under the impression, that that will be our only visit.

Ambiance was good. the waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Food... not bad, not excellent. Would I go there in the future? I would.

This is the only mexican restaurant that I have found that tastes like the Tex Mex back home in Texas. Delicious food.

The food, in general, was fine. The chips and salsa were all kinds of deliciousness. The refried beans (while too smooth for my liking) were delicious. The rice was way too sweet for me. VERY limited menu options, but not all that authentic, compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. It would be nice if they offered "combo" entrees. Not a lot of food for the money.

Excellent restaurant and location. We loved the food and drinks. Everything was beyond top notch. Easily one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to!

I never have a bad meal here! Please bring back the dip trio, it’s the best way to sample guacamole, salsa and queso.

Rojo Maple Grove was just, meh. Not sure if it's a new restaurant or not, but they have a ways go to go get to Southdale and West End quality & vibe. Service was somewhat inattentive. We were there for 2.5, maybe 3 hours and not once were our water glasses refilled. Not once. Trying to flag down a server was almost impossible as it appears they are short staffed and they were all busy bussing each other's tables - perhaps to split right at 9pm when they close...on a Saturday? The food was OK. It wasn't great, it was OK. There wasn't a lot of flavor in the chicken tacos and the "Cadillac Margarita" was a waste of $12.50. Which brings me to another point about ROJO in general - you're a Mexican Restaurant. Regardless which Rojo I go to, the margaritas always taste like dirty dishwater. You'd think a Mexican restaurant, of all restaurants, would have a decent margarita...especially for $12.50. OpenTable says a lot of noise is, "energetic." Not on this night . All of the unnecessary noise was coming from the kitchen. Including the manager berating a server for all of us to hear. For a minute I thought I was on the set of one of those Gordon Ramsey Horror Shows. Additionally, there is inexplicably a "work table" right in the middle of the dining room where servers and managers congregate, wrap silverware, set dish buckets and other random restaurant equipment and dirty dishes on. What is up with that? I don't need to see the cleaning buckets nor the joy on the manager's face (that was sarcasm, dear reader) as he's wrapping what is probably his 300th role of silverware for the evening. Like I said, maybe it's a new restaurant/location, but there's a LOT of work to do up in Maple Grove, dearest Rojo.
