Roe is a modern and spacious restaurant in the heart of Wood Wharf from the trio behind the critically-acclaimed sister restaurant Fallow St James’s and FOWL.

The extensive a la carte menu is divided into nibbles and flatbreads, skewers and grilled options, with larger plates and sides also available. As well as championing modest, British ingredients, Roe’s dishes showcase underused and underappreciated produce. Rare breed meats and carefully sourced fish from the British Isles are central to the menu, as well as regenerative crops like Wildfarmed native grain.

                                                                          The food is so good. The Hispi cabbage is delicious, as is the blooming onion. I will be back again for dinner next time as I want the cuttlefish toasts again! They are something else. As is the onion!

Service was good apart from at the end when it took about 15 minutes to get the attention of anyone for the bill and then a short while to get the card machine. Music is quite loud - we were on a bigger table for 6 so very hard to converse across the table.

                                                                          I've been twice to this restaurant, both times the food has been outstanding, and I don't say that lightly. Fresh ingredients, beautifully seasoned and served. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves "real food" cooked and served exceptionally well. The restaurant is minimalist but classy and suitable for client lunches/dinners but also relaxed enough to just chill with friends. I cannot say enough great things about this place.

                                                                          On New Year’s Eve it was hectic so I won’t count that night because we waited for 40 minutes just to sit down, although we had a booking. On a normal day the service is good and the food is also really good

                                                                          The food is ok - nice menu. Mushroom shwarma was super tasty. Turbot was really well cooked. Nice wine selection. Loved the pear and cheese flatbread. But the whole place - it’s just too smokey with the open plan kitchen and grills. Second time visiting and again left stinking of smoke. Staff are nice but too pushy on the upsell. We had waaay too much food left based on her suggestions of how much to order and it was a hungry group!
