The food took awhile to come to our table. The crab dip had NO lump crabmeat visible in it, but had spinach? The fried fish was very dry. Took over 15 minutes to run my payment card. No valet parking attendant was available upon arrival , we had to park in the parking garage and walk. Made using a cane an experience.

The new layout offers very little dining room seating. It's mostly catering to the casino crowd at the moment. Before there was a huge buffet in the back room. They need to separate the casino from what was a very popular dining destination.

I Made Reservations and got sat down right away but did not see waitress for 25 minutes. Food Entre came 35 minutes later. My 3 Crab ball appetizers was a 1 -1/2 inches and was $25. Rod N Reel Thanks for warning us and setting us up.

Service was extremely slow. While others were getting bread, we waited 40 minutes for our appetizer. Drinks sat empty for a while, steers they were wrong in the first place. The medium steak was well done. The a imperial crab was a little bit of crab with a glob of mayonnaise on top. Fried chicken my son got was tasty but greasy as could be. The manager did, however, take care of it by removing everything down to the amount of the deposit.

I've been coming here since I was a child, and was eager to recommend Rod & Reel as a meeting place to a friend who lives in St Mary's County. I was excited to see that with so many other changes in Chesapeake Beach, Rod & Reel has remained the same as I'd remembered. The food, the view, the service...incredible! Special thanks to Sam for taking such good care of us, even with a grumpy kiddo in tow. I understand that Rod&Reel will be undergoing a renovation which, frankly, is long overdue. However for one brief moment I was able to travel back in time.

Read all the “rules”required. So we were EXACTLY on time with all members of our party present! We still waited 20 for our table despite there being 4 other tables there! Food was disappointing…rock fish was small, thin. Didn’t think rock that small was legal. As a result fish was dry and absolutely not worth the $32 I paid! We’re done with R&R as the food isn’t good and the service was as always, slow!

Order taken by waitress. Food brought by someone else with one whole dinner missing. No one came to see if food arrived. After we inquired, his food finally arrived hot (so just made). He finally ate (alone). There were only 2-3 other tables... The gratuity was $60 automatic... why should she care?

Outdated decor, in dire need of deep cleaning and at the very least painting, & staff needs refresher on meeting and exceeding customer service needs so that waiting for initial drink order or bill payment is within acceptable timeframe. Food was average . It was hot , that was good. Cake was plated with wax paper from the bakery that separated each slice (uncouth and lazy). Won’t be back , nothing special.
