Rocky Bottoms started out as an 1800s brick kiln with a purpose to fire bricks. Eventually the brick kiln was unable to compete with larger competitors and closed down after WW2. Since this time the brick kiln has offered itself as agricultural storage until it collapsed and stood derelict.

In 2008 the brick kiln’s potential and need of restoration was spotted by local fishing family; The Matthews. After years of love and attention, Rocky Bottoms, as we know it today was born. Our doors opened in May 2015, just in time for the start of the crab season. We deliver local shellfish from pot to plate in a laid back environment. Rocky Bottoms believes in enjoying the simpler things in life!

    We came here for my wife’s birthday lunch meal as been previously and enjoyed the food, however a little ruined . Some people need to control their children allowing others to appreciate their meals , children left free to run around being loud with no control by their parents, lobsters were nice but very little meat in them , service was excellent

    Fabulous lunch, excellent service from the team - accommodated 2 additional guests at very short notice. We all really enjoyed the afternoon on the patio. Thank you.

    Been here a few times for either just drinks or drinks and food. Staff are great and the food is delicious with good portion sizes. I recommend Rocky Bottoms to all my friends who visit the area.

    Gorgeous spot for this family run restaurant. Very friendly with great service and the food was amazing. All freshly caught and prepared. Would highly recommend.
