Rocky Bottoms started out as an 1800s brick kiln with a purpose to fire bricks. Eventually the brick kiln was unable to compete with larger competitors and closed down after WW2. Since this time the brick kiln has offered itself as agricultural storage until it collapsed and stood derelict.

In 2008 the brick kiln’s potential and need of restoration was spotted by local fishing family; The Matthews. After years of love and attention, Rocky Bottoms, as we know it today was born. Our doors opened in May 2015, just in time for the start of the crab season. We deliver local shellfish from pot to plate in a laid back environment. Rocky Bottoms believes in enjoying the simpler things in life!

    Amazing fresh seafood, lovely location. Separate children's menu. Really enjoyed it, will visit again.

    I had been wanting to try lobster for a decade so chose a place hoping it would blow my mind away but unfortunately I wish I never had it BUT it was my choice to try something weather I didn’t like it or not cooked right I don’t know it was rubbery and tough the rest of the plate and staff was fantastic couldn’t fault it I paid £30 for half a lobster but got a free pint after explaining I didn’t like the lobster but didn’t want a free pint as it wasn’t there fault I chose it as the service and rest of the meal was very good and professional. So to answer the question I don’t know was it cooked bad or I just didn’t like!

    Lovely location. We ate in a lovely warm glassed area (protected from the very cool wind coming off the nth sea). Staff were polite, friendly & helpful. They obviously enjoy their job. The sea food was excellent. Locally caught that day. Excellent variety on the menu

    Really enjoyed the crab salad lunch. Service was good although drinks order was wrong and rather expensive. Wouldn’t put me off going again though !!

    We always visit Rocky bottoms when in Norfolk If you are looking for amazing seafood caught locally and lovingly prepared this is a must place to visit . Highly recommended Luke G Felmersham Bedfordshire

    Enjoyed our visit,friendly,welcoming staff and good choice of food.would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area wanting to eat at a seafood restaurant. Was very busy even for a weekday lunchtime so recommend booking.

    Friendly, competent staff. Good ambiance, unobtrusive background music. Now for the food, fresh, sweet and juicy crab, good salad, lovely chips and apparently the squid was sublime! Nice local lager and IPA and the desserts were great, lovely finish to the meal. All in all 10/10
