Robun is a tribute to Japanese author Kanagaki Robun and his 1872 book Seiyō ryōritsū, which introduced Western barbecue to Japan.

Our modern-day interpretation of Yakiniku specialises in sharing plates of beautiful robata grilled dished large plates fused with elements from across Asia, paired with inspired cocktails and an extensive choice of Japanese whiskeys or sake in the most inviting and sociable of settings.

Alongside our innovative selection of sashimi, salads and small plates, our fresh sushi is served in a variety of creative incarnations including soft-shell crab futomaki roll with kimchi mayo and a tobiko-topped nigiri.

Upstairs in the Kanagaki Suite, we provide an events space and cocktail bar set to host celebrations and events. Besides hosting bespoke celebrations and meetings, the Suite opens up on weekends for a place to drink and dine!

Robun is the place to relax, unwind and enjoy sharing plates with friends and family. It will definitely leave you wanting more.

    Always perfect food beautifully presented and excellent service in a really nice environment. Always clean and well presented. Found the background music quite annoying and repetitive

    Warm welcome. Negroni was delicious, champagne freshly opened and bubbly. Octopus , green salad, sticky rice, miso soup, ribs all delicious and well cooked.

    Outstanding food. Choose 9 dishes. The only one that was not outstanding was the slider, it was ok. Definitely recommend this for lunch Bento boxes or evening meal .

    A great start with lovely staff, I was seated in the direct breeze of the door so a little chilly & our food went cold quickly. The food is served as ready & we had all our dishes other than rice within 10-15 minutes. Once we had finished our dishes the rice arrived ! A little difficult to eat rice alone at the end of a meal. A number of guests were complaining about their food & there were 3 dishes on the menu unavailable. The £20per head cancellation fee is a little steep for a Tuesday evening. Truthfully I didn’t feel it was worth the 30 minutes each way journey. A pleasant experience but I won’t be rushing back.

    The nigiri has been made by a beginner… rice broken as soon as you touch it … The beef was very dry cannot swallow It’s looks no more chef … service very slow Before it was so perfect… it’s pity Service was good but they cannot do anything

    What a fabulous lunch, my first time at the Robun and I will be back when next in Bath. The food was amazing and service excellent, they were so kind making special cocktails for us to enjoy with our food on a special Hen lunch. Thank you to all the team, can not recommend them highly enough.

    The food was outstanding. Excellent vegan options. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. I also had a really delicious mocktail. Couldn't fault it. The perfect place for my husband's birthday celebration
