Robun is a tribute to Japanese author Kanagaki Robun and his 1872 book Seiyō ryōritsū, which introduced Western barbecue to Japan.

Our modern-day interpretation of Yakiniku specialises in sharing plates of beautiful robata grilled dished large plates fused with elements from across Asia, paired with inspired cocktails and an extensive choice of Japanese whiskeys or sake in the most inviting and sociable of settings.

Alongside our innovative selection of sashimi, salads and small plates, our fresh sushi is served in a variety of creative incarnations including soft-shell crab futomaki roll with kimchi mayo and a tobiko-topped nigiri.

Upstairs in the Kanagaki Suite, we provide an events space and cocktail bar set to host celebrations and events. Besides hosting bespoke celebrations and meetings, the Suite opens up on weekends for a place to drink and dine!

Robun is the place to relax, unwind and enjoy sharing plates with friends and family. It will definitely leave you wanting more.

We went for with a large group and they took great care of us. The food was excellent, staff were very helpful and they even made us some decaf espresso martinis! The sushi was really delicious - would recommend

Fabulous restaurant with excellent food and service. Lots of food options, beautifully presented and great flavours. Only negative is that dishes come when they’re ready and not in any order. So mild tasting sashimi arrived after a couple of spicy dishes which rather took away from the fish.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely amazing experience at Robun! From the moment we walked in, Tah (apologies if I’m spelling his name wrong) made us feel incredibly welcome. He provided superb service, explaining everything on the menu perfectly and making sure we understood every detail. We were greeted with complimentary bubbles as soon as we arrived, which was a lovely touch. Despite the restaurant being busy and our food taking a bit longer to arrive, Tah’s kindness and passion for hospitality truly stood out. He treated us like royalty, making the wait enjoyable. Coming from a restaurant background myself, I have to say this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the UK. I’ve worked in high-end sushi restaurants, and the quality of the fish and wagyu beef at Robun was outstanding. A huge thank you to the team, especially Tah, for making our visit so special. We will definitely be returning in the future!

We were recommended this place on our trip to Bath, so booked ourselves in for a visit. We decided on the taster menu, with wine pairings, and were not disappointed. Food was delicious, a good range of courses, with well thought out wines to accompany. Our waitress, Angelina, was fantastic, chatty, offering help and advice throughout our meal, most useful as it was our first visit to a Japanese restaurant. We loved it, thanks so much for a fab evening!

We go to Robun a few times a year. We took a friend visiting from Essex and this visit was by far our most favourite. Food quality was amazing! Chefs should be very proud of what they produced. The gluten free options are better than ever. I can’t remember our waitress’ name but she was incredibly friendly and her and the Barman went above and beyond to get us a cocktail we fell in love with at the start of last year. Our only niggle would be the fact that the love tug cocktail wasn’t on the menu.

It is quite an expensive meal although we have the discount so I can’t complain. Nice restaurant

We really like Robun and chose it to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. It's not perfect, the service can be quite slow but the staff are really helpful and courteous. The food we had was fantastic, nothing to complain about. Super tasty and well presented. The only other gripe, if thats the word was that they got our order wrong twice. Nothing major and they were very kind in reducing the bill as compensation. We would definitely return.
