Took my mum to lunch at Roast for her birthday after having a wonderful time here previously. As always the food was impeccable and the service was outstanding. The person serving us (Akash) was a gentleman and very friendly. He went out of his way way to make us feel very welcome and can't thank him enough. The rest of the staff were also very accommodating. Can't fault the service. My family throughly enjoyed the food, desserts especially delicious! It was a nice gesture from Roast presenting my mum with a little dessert for her birthday. Now one of my favourite places to dine in London and will visit again very soon no doubt. Thank you.

What an incredible value for money experience, and the food was among the best I’ve eaten in my life. The staff were so attentive, and everything was nigh on perfect. 10/10 would recommend Roast to anyone.

So sad to see Roast like it is now. My guest & I will not be returning or recommending it any one. There was no warm welcome when you get the entrance, as the reception has been taken away & replaced by a small plinth with fake flowers. The lovely spacious toilets have gone & there are 2 small ladies toilets where the tap nearly came off in my hand. The bar area has been crowded with tables, gone is the lovely seating area to wait for your guests, relax & sit at the bar. The tables in the main seating area packed in & so closely together that my arm could rest on the chair of the next table to us. My guest & I physically moved our table to feel a bit more comfortable, my guest mentioned this to a waiter & was dismissed, so they told another who said they would mention it to the manager. The main seating area was almost empty. The food was o.k. & menu limited. The wine list has the glass & carafe price but not by the bottle so a carafe listed at £34 becomes a £58 bottle, which once poured was located far away from our table & near a seated table of 4. Our bill was £176 for 2. We had pork belly (comes with mash) , rib eye steak (doesn't come with anything) , sides of chips & cauliflower cheese & a bottle of wine. No starter or desert. There is no feeling that this is a luxury & a treat anymore. I have been going to Roast since it opened but this is the first & last time i'll go since it's been refurbished.

Great food, couldn't fault it. We went on a quite monday morning, and only a few tables dining. We were greeted and had great service from what seems to be the manager. One waitress on shift was miserable throughout, but couldn't fault the manager as she engaged with conversation regularly.

Food was delicious, however the service was severely lacking. There was multiple times we had to ask for drinks and more than 2 times our drinks order had been forgotten about. For example the starter came before one person on our table had been served their Coca Cola as the staff had forgotten about it. The staff were inattentive when it came to refilling water which meant I had to wait 20 minutes at a time for my glass to be refilled, perhaps better to just leave the jug? The restaurant was busy, but I feel like the service for the price paid was not matched at all. It’s a shame because I have been here multiple times but service really was not up to scratch. We were also sitting by the bar and weren’t allowed to take our drinks even though we could see them sitting at the bar for 20 minutes waiting to be given to us. We also were delayed by 15 minutes for sitting at our table with no apologies really given. We had arrived 10 mins early so waiting nearly 30 mins for a table was not good.

The food was excellent, but unfortunately, the service was very poor. I'm not sure if they were understaffed or if we were unlucky with our server.

Beautiful setting for lunch overlooking the Borough market. Roast beef was perfectly cooked, but stingy on the portions compared to the Beef Wellington or Pork on offer. Probably try one of those next time.
