There were a number of problems with getting our order right and the speed with which the food came. Once the problems were identified, however, the staff could not have done more to try to rectify matters. Nice ambience, great location, but a little bit noisy.

Whilst Roast continues to be a lovely location, it felt like there were a number of staff still learning their roles and the roast beef was little cold. However the roast potatoes where excellent

We had a wonderful experience at Roast and really loved the Halloween/Day of the Dead theming. Our waiter Marco was utterly fabulous and nothing was too much trouble for him. The way he opened our wine bottle was super impressive and then he left a lovely decoration on the bottle from a napkin. He was super attentive, friendly and he really made our night - so thank you. We really enjoyed the food too and especially the Beef Carpaccio and the Beef Wellington. Well done Marco and the team!!

Service was barely passable. Had a late table (8.30) so the staff spent the evening resetting tables constantly very close to where we were seated. Ignored completely on arrival. Barely a welcome or smile. Stood waiting for 5 mins trying to get someone’s attention. Had ordered the market menu and one of the three mains was not available. Substitution was roast beef which was tough and undifferentiated. I ordered rare and my friend ordered medium. Both were medium rare extremely tough slices of meat. The croquettes for the starter were good though. And a good choice of wines by the glass although a lot of them were extremely expensive, e.g. £35 Glass. Lighting and ambience nothing like the pictures. Brightly lit with old style LEDs. The final straw was when my friend had gone to the loo and we had paid our bill and I was waiting for him. A waiter came to my table and said to me “Madam we are closed”. Not exactly welcoming and completely unnecessary as it was clear we were getting ready to leave. Wouldn’t dine here again.

We had the beef and chicken Sunday roast. Both meats were fine but underwhelming. The vegetables were sparse -1 carrot each! The sticky toffee pudding was lovely but needed more sauce and ice cream of which you got a teaspoon of! We paid for extra roast potatoes and gravy and they had the audacity to charge for the gravy! Unbelievable considering I was gluten free so got no Yorkshire pudding. Never deducted anything for that did they! The service was also appalling. Nobody asked us if we wanted to order, have another drink, more water, a dessert, how the food was, or even the bill. We had to ask for everything and when told this to the waiter he never apologised. He just said ‘we are short staffed’ which was untrue as when we left the place was nearly empty. There was barely anyone to serve! It took 2 hours just for one course to be ordered and served. Very disappointing service and food overpriced. We demanded that the extortionate service charge to be removed and the price of the extra gravy!! We always pay service charge, but in this case it was very much not due.

The service was terrible today - queuing up As soon as we arrived outside the lift We queued for 15 minutes… then some tables became availabkk l e but honestly during the time soooo many people were waiting /complaining and no one managed the queue or our expectations- team had head down and avoided everyone. Even them at the table we had then waited a further 30 minutes fir drinks and at this point still didn’t have our food order taken We escalated to a manager with no impact Our food was good and we ordered expensive wine - when the cheque arrived / no gesture of apologie. It should be noted there were at least two waiting staff who Had terrible body odour issues - such a shame. Someone needs to manage this place properly- great food and wine but everything else lets it down - such a shame

The food was brilliant, love the decor and style of the restaurant. One of the best sunday roasts I've had in London Sadly we were put on the worst table there, right by the wines and staff fridges so it was a bit annoying with them coming to squeeze past us to get drinks etc. The service can definitely improve for the price of the restaurant it felt more like service you'd get in a chain mid-end restaurant like Wagamama's.

We had to wait 35 mins after our booking time to be eventually seated, no proper waiting area, with only a muted apology. Even after this the service was professional, but not either really welcoming or friendly. However, as always, the food itself was excellent and the setting / ambience really pleasant.
