    Very noisy surrounding, loud background music and people conversing. Mediocre food, raw fish over spiced and lobster too tough. When my wife mentioned to the waiter that the lobster is a bit hard he replied “hard to please “ and went away. Corking charge 40CAD as opposed to a much more reasonable charge at another restaurant 15CAD. Overall: an expensive and dissatisfying dining experience.

    Had an absolutely fantastic time at Riviera last night with friends! The whole experience was just incredible. The food? Out of this world. If you go, you have to try the whitefish caviar—it’s a must. The roasted octopus was also amazing. Our waiter was so great and really helpful. There are tons of drink options, and when I mentioned what I usually like, they made a spot-on suggestion that I loved. Trust their recommendations! I can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!

    Patio was very pleasant and the people watching was great. I think our server may have had too many tables because our drinks ran dry and we had to waive him down to order another but other than that, the service was great. Food was good but not exemplary. Would definitely go back but I have had great pastas at other Ottawa restaurants. I would probably try a non pasta dish next time.

    Our first time visiting Riviera, but will certainly not be the last. After years of thinking we should try it out, we finally did, and can see why it remains one of the top restaurants not only in Ottawa, but in Canada. The food was spectacular and service was on point. Well worth a visit, we will be there again in the future.

    We were greeted by a distinguished gentleman upon our arrival. Our server was not only friendly but also highly knowledgeable about the food ingredients, wine, and spirits selections. The junior staff, who brought our bread and cleared the table, were also friendly. Overall, the experience epitomized fine dining at its best. However, be aware that the noise level was quite high due to the 30-foot ceilings, which made conversation with my friend louder than I would have preferred.

    By far one of the most incredible dining experiences we’ve enjoyed. Having travelled across North America and Europe, I’ve had the privilege of dining and many of the world’s most renowned eateries. Riviera is at the top of the list with the best of them. The food, the service, the cocktails and the ambiance were all top notch. Particularly impressed with Somelier Colin and legendary mixologist Steve! The beef tartare was one of the top 5 plates I’ve enjoyed in my life.
