Menu is small but covers most tastes, the food was excellent and plentiful. Staff were helpful and attentive and the general ambiance is wonderful.

Best breakfast ever! I had two lovely poached eggs on toast and they were perfect with bright orange yolks! Fabulous!

Maybe coming from Northern Ireland where we are blessed with fabuous product and many great restaurants I have had better meals for less. I got no great flavour to the beef from the Wellington. I was massively disappointed in the sticky toffee pudding,the spongee was overcooked, im sorry to say ive had better from a tin. The wine list and the staff were fabulous. Unfortunately the food let it down

Overall very pleasant for a breakfast, lovely table by the window and the food options, quality and sizes were very good. Service was quiet and a little slow especially once initial service completed, for example we had to call staff a few times for water, additional drinks and had a long wait for the bill/card machine. Great food, slightly underwhelmed as expected to be wowed at The Savoy.

We had a wonderful lunch and the food was sumptuous. However, the birthday cake that I specifically requested for my boyfriend and had a confirmation via email was about to be given to me! I said to the waitress that it was for my boyfriend and pointed to his direction. It was clearly going to be given to me as the birthday candle was pink!!! I really do not understand the mix up because when we arrived it was the receptionist who mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday and again, I said that it was my boyfriend’s birthday!

It was my birthday and a disappointing experience in the River Restaurant. For a start, when I did the original booking there were two roast meats available - Beef and Chicken. For this reason I booked a table. However, on the day there was no alternative roast to Beef which, unfortunately, was inedible because it was very tough (it was difficult to cut) and chewy, and the fibres did not break down in your mouth. A second plate of Beef produced the same result, obviously because of the particular cut of meat which, in my opinion, should have been well hung. The beef in the Beef Wellington, by contrast, was very tender. The meal in general was tasty, particularly the gravy and fresh horseradish sauce, which we had to ask for. However, for some unknown reason, the hispi cabbage was served almost raw which made part of it hard and inedible. The wine was perfect, as were the starters and desserts. Unfortunately, the service was inattentive and cool. When ice from the oysters melted and leaked all over the table, I had difficulty getting any passing waiter to take notice because I imagined they were not assigned to our station. Eventually, a manager took notice and summoned our waiter, and several napkins later the water was mopped up. The service in The American Bar by contrast was superb, an attentive, very charming and smiling young lady, up to Savoy standards. Because it was my birthday celebration, we were allowed to overstay the allotted time at our table, which was appreciated.
