The River Restaurant by Gordon Ramsay is a beautifully classic, yet stylish and relaxed all-day dining restaurant in the heart of The Savoy, London. The River Restaurant showcases the very best shellfish and seafood the UK has to offer. From fresh oysters, ceviche and caviar served at the centre-piece raw bar, to an incredible à la carte menu including butter baked cod, grilled lobster and whole dayboat fish. With panoramic views across the River Thames and Victoria Embankment Gardens, The River Restaurant blends The Savoy's glorious architecture with a light and polished interior, designed by world renowned designer Russell Sage.     We dined at Riverside Restaurant during our short stay at The Savoy Hotel. The service was very good as you would expect. We had the bread basket as a starter and I had the Ribeye Steak which was very good but not as good as the same steak I had in The Savoy Grill - also a Gordon Ramsay Restaurant. The peppercorn sauce was not typical in that it was smooth (no peppercorns I could visibly see) and thinner than I care for. You must order all your sides as extra. My hubby had the Baby spatchcock chicken which he said he really enjoyed. We found it very difficult to choose the wine as there were just too many, a real encyclopaedia if you like. Most wines were too expensive even for such an upmarket venue for our tastes. Overall, no real complaints but not blown away either…………

    Dress code could do with being encouraged…too many Savoy patrons wearing jogging pants, shorts and trainers. All a bit scruffy and lets the place down. Food is fine but not exceptional, except for the price. The only reason to pay these prices is for the Savoy ambience, but as that’s lacking due to scruffy patrons, what’s the point?

    Menu is small but covers most tastes, the food was excellent and plentiful. Staff were helpful and attentive and the general ambiance is wonderful.

    Best breakfast ever! I had two lovely poached eggs on toast and they were perfect with bright orange yolks! Fabulous!

    Maybe coming from Northern Ireland where we are blessed with fabuous product and many great restaurants I have had better meals for less. I got no great flavour to the beef from the Wellington. I was massively disappointed in the sticky toffee pudding,the spongee was overcooked, im sorry to say ive had better from a tin. The wine list and the staff were fabulous. Unfortunately the food let it down
