Our Kitchen & Store is a casual space to drop by for breakfast, lunch, drinks, tea and snacks.

The cafe menu will change regularly, offering the freshest and finest food in season, with much grown in the River Cottage Garden and produced by our neighbouring farms.

Beautiful place, incredible views and lovely staff. We had a really great time here for a family meet up, and we had 3 dogs with us who were welcomed too! Very limited menu, and not big portions, we ended up ordering desserts as most of us were still hungry! Not sorry though as the desserts were amazing- the kind of creative flavour combinations I’d expect and experienced at the canteen at Axminster. The mains felt more uncreative, not memorable, but fine. It would have been good to have some sides on offer. I know this is primarily a brunch / coffee place, and it really felt like it. It came to more than £100 for 4 (with one beer), which is a lot. I know food costs are high but why is an espresso £4? We all know how much a packet of coffee costs! Eating out is a huge luxury for us, this is probably the only time we’ll do it this year, and it’s good for that to feel memorable. The place and the people were, the food wasn’t. I’d go back for coffee and cake if I was feeling flush.

Brilliant Brunch!! Hard to find fault. Lovely location with amazing views. Wonderful welcome and exceptional service. Fabulous food, fresh and flavourful. Not the cheapest but well worth the price. Thoroughly enjoyed it, would recommend without hesitation and revisit without question.

Was somewhat disappointed as we went specifically for the sausages and they had sold out. We ended up having the daily special which was fine. As always the ambiance and service were outstanding

Great food Lovely staff friendly and efficient Slightly limited menu more a light lunch which was quite pricey for what it was. Fantastic views Dog friendly Ticked all the boxes for me

The food was delicious, service was friendly and helpful. We went for brunch before a walk at Trinity Hill with the dogs, so it was great to be able to bring them with us. My only quibble is that the coffee was very expensive: £4 for a very small americano. I would have liked to have had a second cup, but not at that price.

Excellent provenance of ingredients, food cooked well and presented attractively. However, choice is very limited and the emphasis is on ‘light bites’ which wasn’t the case when we last visited. A bit underwhelming given the skills the team clearly possesses.

It’s a cafe with quite a limited menu trading on the river cottage name. Staff were nice but not efficient. It’s ok, but really the only thing to distinguish it from a similar cafe is the views.

Food was nice but let down by very slow service. Table was very low to be cleared, we had to ask for the desert menu after waiting a fair time for it and then had to go in to the till to pay after the bill failed to materialise.
