Supper Evening with the Pie special. Not our first time here and definitely not our last. Thank you to all the team - food was delicious (Beef and Ale pie followed by apple pie) served in a very calm atmosphere. We were looked after very well by the front of house team.

Absolutely a fabulous lunch experience. I have been wanting to come here for years as I do admire Hugh's strive to go organic, local and healthy. He really was ahead of his time. The food was realy nice, innovative and fresh and tasty. The staff went out of their way to answer our questions. We felt very welcome. I ll definately will be back!

We have been before and thoroughly enjoyed it. However on Sunday 3rd Nov the service was painfully slow, not the staff's fault they were working flat out just not enough staff, they seemed overwhelmed by the numbers. So a very long wait for just a one scone and soup. The soup was excellent but the scone was very dry/stale. I am sure we will return but probably not on a Sunday morning, we had booked a week before.

We haven’t been to this particular venue since it relocated from Axminster town centre Everything was perfect the food was absolutely outstanding and couldn’t have been fresher - the staff were amazing polite and super friendly 100% on everything- will make coming here a habit - highly recommended. The 2 of us went for brunch, the service seemed to be very slow but the food was very nice and the sausages were the best we’d tasted for a long time.We were sat in a row of 3 separate double tables which felt a bit of a squeeze, new to us was a couple with a very large dog who was generally well behaved and lay on the floor albeit very close to us, during the course of our meal he was obviously getting fed up and kept sitting up with his head inches away from our table which was a bit disconcerting, a little later a family came in with a spaniel that obviously didn’t want to be there and did nothing but whine. I understand that eateries are under pressure to allow dogs but why don’t they have a separate area for them? Not everyone wants to share their mealtime with a dog.

Amazing food and I was really looking forward to meat night. A bit disappointed when I saw one of the "meat" choices was indeed a cauliflower steak. Personally I think it should have been 3 meat choices on the menu and if you wanted to have a cauliflower steak, go to the next supper night which will be the veg one. However what we did choose was the best pork chop and venison sausage that we have ever had and the celeriac was so good.
