Mentored by Michelin-starred chef Rohit Ghai, a true connoisseur and lover of the heritage of Indian cuisine, Rivayat promises a magical experience, taking you on a journey to the very limits of Indian flavors.

Rohit Ghai’s first solo restaurant, Kutir in Chelsea, opened in late 2018, followed by the critically acclaimed Manthan in Mayfair in 2021. Rohit has worked in and run the kitchens of some of London's leading Indian restaurants, such as Benares, Trishna, Gymkhana, Hoppers and most recently, Jamavar and Bombay Bustle. He is also the first Indian chef to win a Michelin star for Jamavar within ten months of opening the restaurant and also for Gymkhana.

It was our honeymoon and Rivayat lived up to the expectation... Romantic, the ambiance was top notch and my wife really enjoyed it. big thanks to Mohchel; he looked after us and ensured we had the best experience.

We’ve had an amazing experience dining at Rivayat, the ambience was very relaxed and romantic. There were enough options on the menu, and everything we’ve had tasted exquisite. The service was very good aswell! Overall an amazing experience, definitely worth every penny and perfect for special occasions.

Très belle expérience culinaire, nous nous sommes régalés avec mon mari. Le cadre est splendide, parfait endroit pour dîner au calme. Mention très spéciale pour notre serveur Mohcine qui a su nous guider sans faute dans nos choix, il a été de très bons conseils. Un grand merci à l’équipe du Rivayat !

Atmosphere - The entrance and building is very impressive it looks beautiful, definitely recommend an outdoor table, a lovely breeze coming through and lovely ambience with the water and flame torches. My chair was pulled out for me and a little table provided for my handbag. Our waiter was called (please excuse my bad memory and poor spelling) Mousine I think, he was lovely very friendly explained the menu in full and told us his favourites for the cocktails to try. Bought out a bday cake and sang happy bday too! Food - We chose the tasting menu, one vegetarian and one meat. The amuse bouche was like a spicy tomato soup, that was phenomenal, such a beauty if balance of spices and so flavourful, I could drink this everyday. All starters both meat and vegetarian were so flavourful and really yummy. Prawns you get about 5/6 so big portion for a starter! The mains were nice but actually I wanted a bit more flavour and spice, it was very mild in comparison to the flavour content of the starters for both the chicken tikka and the paneer tikka, the main disappointment was with paneer tikka you only get 1 cube of paneer, that is quite poor for the cost. You get lots of chicken in comparison! The tarka Dal was lacking in flavour too and the naan whilst fresh and nice, it was maybe rolled too thin and so was a bit too crispy, it would have been nice to keep some soft if rolled a little thicker. Dessert was exceptional both bhappa doi and the chocolate orange, beautifully plated and balanced in flavour. Extras- the lady at the desk to seat you and take your reservation was so lovely, took pictures for us too! Taha, another member of the team, very observant, saw I was pregnant checked our food order and came to inform me that there was no fenugreek in my food which is not good for pregnant women. This was so thoughtful it was lovely to be thought of so carefully! I felt safe here. Live DJ is amazing, need her mix! The concierge ordered us a taxi, 20min wait and all good!

Dined at Rivayat for our 25th Anniversary. The ambience of Oberoi was fantastic, Rivayat’s food was indeed Michelin class and Imad, our server, made sure we were well taken care of through out and very knowledgeable. Even had a special surprise at the end. An amazing culinary experience, topped with ambience historic Morocco.

My friend and I decided to book a table at Rivayat for our last day in marrakesh,and it surely didnt disappoint. The ambiance of the restaurant was delightful, and the server Imad was exceptionally helpful and generous throughout the meal. His attentive service truly enhanced the dining experience. Thanking Imad for his outstanding service and acknowledging his hard work and dedication to providing excellent customer service which helped us navigate the exceptional menu easily. the food was absolutely delicious! The flavors are so vibrant and rich, from the aromatic spices to the diverse range of dishes. If you're a foodie like me, you'll definitely enjoy it.

I booked this restaurant for my 30th birthday with my best friend without many expectations but let me tell you that I was AMAZED!!! The level of service was top notch, Imad took care of us and was attentive! The food was delicious! The chef Anand did an amazing job and we were very happy to meet him. The restaurant manager was also very considerate and made our night very special. They offered us a chocolate cake and sang happy birthday!! I mean what else could we ask for!! Thank you all to the team! I will definitely come back again!

Best Indian food I’ve had in a long time. Ihsane, who attended to us was so pleasant and all her recommendations were spot on. She was so attentive and made sure we had the most special evening. The Chef, Anand Singh who took some time to come out and greet us made the evening more memorable. One of the best dining experiences.
