Very busy at 5pm, only to be expected with Pride and a Peter Kay show on. Service was swift and pleasant. Food, average, pizza came, (mushroom, ham, truffles) hardly any mushrooms, ham cold and just laid on top as were the 2 basil leaves, by the time I was half way through the whole pizza was cold. Courgette fries, nice to start, but at the bottom of the dish, sat on a pool of oil. Would think twice about booking again

Thank you very much for your feedback. We truly appreciate the time you take to help us improve our food and service. I would like to clarify a couple oh things in order to help you understand how our pizza is made. Firstly, the pizza capricciosa is made of ham mushroom and black olives not truffle. The ham is to be added once the pizza is cooked. Otherwise, the ham would be dry and crunchy. Please, note that its completely normal that the pizza becomes cold halfway through. A pizza could not possibly be hotter than it is as that would result in a burnt pizza .Becoming cold while eating it is something that its out of our hands. kind regards, Giuseppe Vitale General manager Riva Blu Manchester

My family and I eat at Riva Blu and cannot fault the staff, service or quality of food and wine. The pistachio Tirimasu is a particular favourite.

This is our favourite Italian and we always visit when we are in Manchester. A varied menu of great Italian classics and a few specials / edits each season. Everything is alway cooked beautifully and presented v well. High quality ingredients and delicious. The team are great, lovely to see the same faces for years; their passion for their job and food shows. It has a great bar if you just fancy a cocktail or beer. Highly recommended

Riva is one of those restaurants that is happy to change its menus. The addition of “street food” is a great inclusion. No matter how long it is between visits the staff are always pleasant, helpful and attentive. They are very professional and attentive.

Started off bad and finished worse . We were seated at a table and 10mins later asked to move because of an error . We were given a glass of Prosecco to make up for it which helped . Focaccia to start was under dine and doughy but burnt on top and had.no garlic taste . The 2 pasta dishes were ok but the carbonara was swimming in olive oil ( taken off the bill) . The deserts weee supposed to be. Chocolate fondant but no oozy sauce on inside instead it was covered in the sauce . When we tried to order coffee we were told our hour was up and had to leave even though the reservation clearly states an hour and a half . Very strange . A good atmosphere in the restaurant but over priced for the quality of food served and poor service so would not recommend.

Food and service was good but was disappointed to be told we had to leave the table as we had stayed for our allocated slot and just presented with the bill.

We were greeted by warm and friendly staff who served us promptly. We had a cocktail (Negroni) and a glass of wine which were very nice. Starters were also nice and tasty, if somewhat overpriced. The main course pasta dish with pork cheek meat was equally tasty but again, a little overpriced for what we got. Overall, however an enjoyable experience.

Like an expensive (but no better) Bella Pasta. There are much better, more authentic and cheaper Italian restaurants in the city centre
